10 Things That Happen When You Are In A Long Term Relationship

We all know that couple who have been together for years and who we can't see breaking up. You're never able to see the one person without the other. They are the dynamic duo, each other's confidant and each other's best friend. You could possibly wonder how they can stand each other for that long, but they love it and you love seeing them happy. This list is about all of the things that happen when two love birds are together for a very, very long time.

1. You stop caring about what you look like.

They've seen you at your worst and if they still love you after you were such a mess, then you don't have to try to impress them anymore. The perk is that you can lounge around in sweats without showering and they will still cuddle you.

2. You become part of their family.

After dating for so long, you've met the family and you visit them regularly with your significant other. Soon, you are texting them like they are your own and you're invited to every single function that your significant other is invited to. Who doesn't like to have a second family that doubles as your cheering squad? If you're lucky enough, you'll make the family Christmas card.

3. Your friends wonder where your significant other is when you show up by yourself.

You casually wonder if your friends like your significant other more than you.

4. You become an amazing dynamic duo.

You're the best team to ever exist. Life is fun with them by your side.

5. Valentine's day is whatever.

You've spent a lot of Valentine's Days together and you've given countless gifts throughout your relationship. A home cooked dinner or even a sweet card will just about do it for you. The holiday becomes irrelevant when you show your love for each other on every day of the year, not just one.

6. You can be as weird as you want to be around them.

"Was that a weird thing to say? He probably thinks that I'm so strange." Two years later and you're sitting next to each other in your underwear while eating peanut butter out of the jar.

7. You feel betrayed when your significant other watches an episode of your favorite Netflix series without you.

You guys have binge watched Netflix instead of going out more times than you can count. So, when your boyfriend/girlfriend says, "I watched it without you," you feel a knot in your stomach. You what?

8. You start to think about your future with them.

It's a scary topic for anyone, but you could see spending a majority of your life with them. You may have already even gotten the awkward, "When are you two getting married?" from each other's families.

9. They make you happy.

They surprise you with your favorite Ben and Jerry's ice cream when you've had a bad day, they go along with your extravagant ideas for a paired Halloween costume while only rolling their eyes a couple of times, and they have come to love and embrace your passions and dreams.

10. You love them unconditionally.

You have grown as a couple and loving each other through it is the best part.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
