Many people say Junior year is the hardest, it's the time where your grades count if you are applying to graduate schools and Internships. It can be the infamous 'Junior year slump' where you are nothing short of being burnt out from the upper level classes you need to pass to graduate. In contrast, it can be the best and most adventurous year of your life because you and all your friends are finally twenty one. Here is a list of things that happen to the average junior in college:
1. You're finally an upperclassman and you kind of feel like a badass.
You know your way around your college and you can spot a freshman with a lanyard from a mile away. You feel like you got a handle on this whole college thing until midterms start up...
2. Your classes are becoming more difficult and the stress hits you like a brick wall.
"Yeah! lets register for some of the hardest courses you can take for my major, I won't have 493373948 nervous breakdowns a week!" WRONG.
3. You may even become so burnt out you just want to graduate.
How many days until graduation?
4. But then you remember how much you'd miss it when you actually graduate.
5. You and all your friends are FINALLY turning 21.
You have been waiting for this moment since freshman year and it's FINALLY here. Perks of junior year: almost everyone turns twenty "fun".
6. You have to start planning for life after college.
Your parents and relatives start to ask the question, "What are your plans for after college?" It's a scary idea to become an adult and not being able to sleep until 1pm on the weekdays. Internships? Graduate schools? The dreaded applications start.
7. You like going out, but you LOVE staying in.
The first two years of college you were all about going out with friends, but now you have a certain type of excitement when plans fall through and you get to lay on the couch watching your favorite television shows all night.
8. You really don't care what you wear out in public.
Your two pairs of jeans are in the way, way back of your closet and your 50 pairs of identical leggings are worn every single day. You have become wise in your third year and realized that if you're going to sit through an hour and fifteen minute lecture, you wear the leggings no matter what.
9. That 5 minute nap really does wonders.
You set your alarm for a five minute nap between classes and you wake up feeling like a completely different person.
