1. "Will I get judged if I wear pajamas to my 9:30?"
The answer is always no. College, especially during finals, is not the same as high school. No one cares if you wear your fuzzy Rudolph pajamas to class.
2. "Should I nap between classes or get ahead in my work?"
Considering you were at the library until one in the morning last night, I think you could use a nap. Plus, I hate you when you're cranky.
3. "What time do you want to get dinner? I still need to write two papers, finish an online assignment and read an entire book."
The past few weeks I have been planning my meals around my work schedule, rather than the other way around, and thankfully my roommates don't mind my change of schedule. Unfortunately for me, that means less food in my system and ultimately less energy which I will desperately need when 2 a.m rolls around.
4. "I think my professor wants me to fail."
This isn't actually true. The assignments have been on the syllabus since the first day of class. It's not his fault I forgot and my roommates don't care if the cold hard truth hurts.
5. "I'm going to have to skip the gym today."
Lately, I've been trying to blame my lack of workouts on my workload... the truth is, I'm just too lazy. (In other words, I wouldn't go on a normal day.)
6. "I need Starbucks."
Finals are just an excuse to buy Starbucks more often than I usually do. The truth is caffeine has ceased to keep me awake due to how much of it I consume. I just like the taste and it makes me look like I'm trying really hard to stay awake and do work.
7. "If the assignment says four pages and my essay is three and a half, is that the same thing?"
No. Four pages means four pages.
8. "Can you read this and tell me if it makes sense?"
Lately, my papers have sounded like they were written while running on three hours of sleep, a half a sandwich from The Roost, and a double shot of espresso. Well, maybe that's because they have.
9. "What should I wear out on Friday?"
Despite the massive workload and a great deal of stress endured during the week, we're definitely still going out on the weekend. And I need to make sure I look good to hide the dark circles under my eyes and my inner turmoil.
10. "Thanks for not judging me for crying."
It's almost embarrassing the number of times I've cried the past few weeks. Between the intense workload, lack of sleep, amount of money spent, and pure frustration, my stress has definitely been getting the best of me. Luckily, I have the two best roommates to help me cope with that.
