When you and your best friend go to different schools, there are several times where you're riding the struggle bus together. Through it all though, we know that there's a reason why we were put together and that's because we're strong enough to get through anything. It's basically like we're in a long distance relationship, but better, because we never actually break up.
1. The FaceTime dates which go on for hours... "You're never going to guess what happened!"
It's as if we need to set aside a whole day on the weekend to catch up on what happened that week. Saying I miss you would be an understatement.
2. Always having someone to miss. It's like you never completely feel whole without them.
Missing someone can be just as much of a bad thing as a good thing. It's hard not having your side kick their to back you up or put a smile on your face when you need it.
3. Always bringing them up in a conversation as "my best friend" because no one at your school has any idea who they even are. They are strictly classified as 'your best friend.'
No matter how many times I tell my friends your name, you're still 'my best friend' because they won't ever remember no matter how many times you tell them.
4. Having to constantly explain to them "Do you remember so and so?" because there are too many people they have not met to remember.
At least they try...and let's be honest; that's all we can ask for!
5. Getting really excited when they actually get to meet your friends at school and freaking out to your friends at school that your best friend is coming.
Yes--this is a big deal. You will now see why I love them and why they are my other half.
6. Doing something that reminds you of them at school but having no one to reminisce on the embarrassing moment with.
It kinda hurts laughing by yourself in public and have everyone question your sanity because they're not there to back you up.
7. Whenever you have to make a hard decision, no matter how long it has been since you've talked to them last, you ALWAYS call them first.
It's so comforting to hear what they have to say and it also reminds you why they will always be your best friend, because they always know EXACTLY what to tell you.
8. Knowing that they're always there for you if you need to get away for the weekend.
No matter how rough your week has been, if you need to just get away, you are able to! Depending on how far away they are, you know you can run to them and not deal with the problems going on at school at least for one weekend.
9. Sending Snapchats to them of things you find or something that reminds you of them randomly because you know they won't think it's weird.
It's the one person who you know you can be like "Look what I found!" and it absolutely makes their day!
10. Knowing that no matter who they meet in college, you'll still be their number 1 in their hearts.
I love you, best friend. You're my always because you're always there. Maybe not in distance but always in my heart. I could never replace you with anyone I meet here at school because you're my soul mate!
