Living in Southwest Florida has its perks.

Beautiful beaches, sunny weather, amazing sunsets... But, the downside of this endless paradise is the humidity. And for all you Florida girls (and some guys, too) out there you all understand the struggle of a bad hair day due to the humidity, especially if you have curly hair.

Here are 10 struggles that you may grapple with as a person with curly hair on a hot, Florida day (Or any summer day for that matter.):

1. The Frizz!

The Frizz! Oh, the endless frizz... Humidity, especially in Florida, is the deliverer of all bad hair days specifically for those who already struggle with curly, fluffy, hair.

2. Ditching the straightener...

Don't even think of taking out the straightener! It may look beautiful in the bathroom mirror when it's freshly straightened but take one step outside and poof! We're back to where we started...

3. Hair Envy.

You see that one girl with the most perfect, shiny hair flowing as she walks even on the most humid of days! You contemplate why some people get so lucky and secretly wish she would trip on the way to class. (Or at least tell you her hair secrets!)

4. You gotta be "Lion..."

You overhear some people saying "Oh I wish I had curly hair! It's so pretty." But little do they know all the effort that is put into making this mane fabulous and avoiding looking like a lion every day.

5. Millions of hair products.

You have more hair products than the average hair salon and you're always trying to find something better! People may say you are overdoing it but you and your hair know that it's simply just essential.

6. Buns are your best friend!

Buns are just magical. You could be having the worst hair day ever, but then you can just put it up in a bun and voila! Buns work with sweatpants and they work with dresses so it doesn't matter whether you're having a lazy day or trying to dress to impress, buns and curly hair are the ultimate duo.

7. Hats are pretty great too.

Hats can also make any bad hair day better. They cover the frizz and they protect your face from the sun! What could be better than that?

8. Thinking about how to style your hair the night before.

You step out of the shower and you overhear on the weather channel that tomorrow is going to be a hot day... This calls for some extensive planning on how to avoid going to work looking like a cotton ball. Braids? Bun? Keratin treatment? All you know is that you got to pre-plan your hairstyle early so it won't be a struggle in the morning.

9. Trying to explain to people why you can't "just brush it!"

Just don't do it! Never ask a person with curly hair why they can't just brush it! Have you ever tried tapping the glass on a tank full of puffer fish? No? Well, the outcome of the puffer fish would be quite similar if you tried tapping my hair with a brush.

10. Accepting "the poof" and all of its glory!

Curly hair may be annoying on a hot, humid day, but damn you rock that "poof" on the daily. Enjoy your natural hair and every wisp, curl, and twist because it's beautiful just the way it is. Don't feel any need to change it just to conform with society even on the hottest of days, just do what makes you feel like the Vogue model that you are.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
