The struggle is real

*Disclaimer: In fairness to my parents, this is all is in good fun. I don't actually feel that neglected*

1. You get hand me downs from your older siblings, but of course you wear them out so the baby gets new clothes

Of course the favorite child gets brand new everything, but you get stuck wearing a shirt with the graphic of whatever you

r sibling thought was cool when they wore it.

2. Your events get skipped for your sibling's events

"Sorry we could't make it, your brother was doing something" (This is the one I'm most bitter about)

3. You're never the first one to do something, but you're also never the last one to do something so it's never as important

Your older sibling's graduation: "Awww, you're our first child to graduate high school!"

Your youngest sibling's graduation "Aww, our baby is graduating!"

Your graduation: "You graduated."

4. Any time you get upset about something it's always attributed to you being the middle child.

Contrary to popular belief, I have feelings outside of where I fall in my family.

5. If you want to do something, it's a no. If your older/younger sibling wants to do it it is an automatic yes.

Me: "Mom can we go to the science center?" "No"

My older brother: "Mom can we go to the science center?" "Of course honey"

6. Your older sibling had to do significantly less for you than you have to do for your younger sibling.

I'm pretty sure I got told to ride my bike/walk home more than my little brother did.

7. You change your name in your mom's phone to "Favorite Child" even though you know it's really one of your siblings

Although she hasn't changed it back so that's something

8. When you tell people you're the middle child they automatically assume that your parents love you less

....at least I don't think they do.

9. You've considered doing dramatic things for attention

Not too dramatic though. Just something small like a haircut or a weird piercing

10. Even when you dramatically change things (get a tattoo, dye your hair, pierce your nose), your family still doesn't notice

I sent my mom multiple selfies following my nose piercing. She didn't even notice it until I pointed it out in person.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
