10 Songs To Get You Motivated For A Fun Filled Summer
Hannah Rabatin

If you are like me, then it is hard for you to get out of bed in the morning. It is also hard for you to get out of your room. I think it is also safe to say that it is hard to leave your house as a whole. I have spent my previous summers taking shelter in my air conditioned room and clinging to my laptop. To that I say, "Enough! That ends here and now!" Summer is all about going out and having the time of your life and going on new adventures. As exciting as it all sounds, it is still rather difficult to make that first step of actually getting up and going. Sometimes, all you need is a little motivation. Here are my top 10 songs to help get you motivated to go out and make the most of your summer!

1. Campfire - Satellite Stories

Grab your best buddies and go camping! This song is catchy and uplifting and will have you packing up your backpack in no time. Grab a sleeping bag and ingredients for some s'mores and you're all set. Happy camping!

2. Sunshine - Tigerweather

If you're looking for a song to give you hardcore happy vibes then look no further. When I listen to this song, I immediately have the sudden urge to get up and go for a walk at the park or around the lake. Pop in some earbuds and play this little diddy to get you springing on your feet. Take in the fresh air and go explore the neighborhood!

3. Stay Out - Nina Nesbitt

This is the perfect song to get you calling up your friends and hitting up the town! Go for a night out in the city and make new memories with your buddies! Make it a night to remember.

4. Fun - Troye Sivan

This is one of my favorite songs to play for a road trip. Roll the windows down, crank up the volume and sing your hearts out!

5. Big Jet Plane - Angus and Julia Stone

Maybe your destination is a little far. Whether your struggling to pack up your bags or you're dreading your long flight, this sweet song will soothe the struggle. Great song to help you get excited to reach your new destination!

6. Home - Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros

This is my favorite song for hiking or traveling. With a steady and catchy beat, you will easily find yourself humming along. It'll help put a little skip to your step, encouraging you to keep going!

7. Let Your Hair Down - MAGIC!

A nice, relaxing, fun day at the beach is a must for the summer! This song is beautiful and sweet, while keeping a beach tone and vibe. Great song to get you onto a beach, soaking up the sun!

8. Postcards from Italy - Beruit

You can never have too many beach songs! This one is more upbeat and bright. A nice song to play with friends sitting around a bonfire. Enjoy the warm sun and cool breeze with this one! You'll be wanting to go back everyday!

9. There is a Light that Never Goes Out - The Smiths

The Smiths are definitely a great way to go. This song in particular is a great one for a late night drive or a date night with a friend or significant other. Can't go wrong with this one! You'll be humming your way out the door before you know it!

10. Tiger Mountain Peasant Song - Fleet Foxes

Whether it is a trip to the mountains, camping, hiking, or relaxing in a canopy, this song will make you wish you were doing at least one of those. This song is so soothing, it will help you create the perfect calming atmosphere for a summer of relaxation.

Have a great summer everyone!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
