10 Signs You've Hit The 2nd Semester Slump As Told By 'New Girl'

The first semester of any year of college is your prime. You go to the best parties, make the greatest friends and have great grades. Fast forward from Christmas break and you're back on campus for the second semester. Anyone can tell you that there is a huge difference between the first and second semesters of a school year for a college kid. But no one can tell the tale of the second semester slump better than the cast of "New Girl."

1. Syllabus week second semester will be the highlight of your year. You adjusted to the party life over break with your home friends so continuing it for a whole week after break is a breeze and you're a natural.

2. Then comes the second week of classes. You can't remember what your professors said about the syllabus the first class because you were too hungover from the night before. Now you're already feeling behind and you're wondering why your professor couldn't respect the holiday week that Sylly week is.

3. Bonus to the new semester is that you get to see all the new hot guys in your new classes and imagine your pretend relationship. Minus you miss the super cute baseball player who sat in front of you last semester that you were already planning to marry.

4. Then mid-semester starts to hit, spring break is emerging and your professors decide this the perfect time to add on work as your social calendar also fills up. You're looking at them with pleading eyes to extend the deadline for your paper, while a bottle of wine is waiting for you in your room for your night out.

5.SPRING BREAK COMES. Now let me tell you, spring break is not all it is made out to be. Not all of us go on awesome vacations. And then when we come back to school we don't want to hear about your TOTALLY awesome trip, while we tell you about the three Netflix series we finished.

6. The weekend after Spring break is pretty awesome though. All of your friends are reunited and this is your one weekend to turn up before school kicks back in.

7. After spring break school starts getting to that weird stage. You're with your friends all the time and you're starting to drive each other crazy. Your classes are actually starting to get hard and you keep seeing that pesky hook up from last semester everywhere all of a sudden.

8. Midterm papers start to pile in at this point, along with group projects and exams. You start to have anxiety over every small detail and you can't even keep track of what is due when. At this point your late night pizza delivers and wine Wednesdays are all that make you happy.

9. This is it, finals week emerges before you know it. Your social calendar grows smaller as your anxiety reaches a new level. You stare sadly out the window of the library at the beautiful weather outside as those more responsible have fun with their free time. Bet they paid attention during Sylly week.

10. Finally it's over. You struggled through your exams. You might have cried to your best friends for a week straight, ate only pizza, and drank the night away the Saturday before your Monday exam, but you made it. Congratulations you made it past the dreaded 2nd semester, now go onward to the beautiful summer and the prospect of a perfect 1st semester in the fall.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
