Everyone in Greek life is proud to wear their letters and show them off to the world. If you are a Sig Delt, you are especially proud to do so. Finding your home in Sigma Delta Tau was probably one of the best things to happen to you. Here are the signs that you know you're a Sig Delt for life:
1. "Wait, what are your letters"
This is a question that you frequently get a lot if you are lucky enough to wear the letters SDT. We have to kindly inform people that our letters do not in fact spell out the lovely acronym of STD, but really that our letters are SDT. Although it can be awkward at times to have to confirm this fact, you wouldn't rather have any other letters.
2. When you try to come up with a clever caption that incorporates our Greek letters ΣΔΤ, otherwise pronounced as eat.
Here are a few captions just to give you a few examples: Fresh to DΣΔΤH, ΣΔΤ your heart out, and just adding it to other words like GrΣΔΤness, BΣΔΤ, and anything else you can come up with.
3. When you refer to your sisters not as sister, but siSDTers. And it's not best, it's BeSDT. Oh, and cuteSDT.
Really, there's no other way to refer to them. You just have to to incorporate your letters anywhere you can...and if the letters fit.
4. If Dora Bloom likes one of your various posts on all social media.
Maybe this is just something to be weary of in my chapter, but for us, if the Dora Bloom account likes something you posted, you have got to delete that post ASAP. The rule of thumb is that if you wouldn't want a grandparent or parents seeing it, or you know, one of the founders of your sorority, then you shouldn't post it. So maybe think twice before uploading that pic of you and a red solo cup to Facebook.
5. If you go on vacation and take pictures like this:
Because there is no better way to throw what you know than on the beach with your siSDTer.
6. When you get to brag about the fact that we have our own nail polish line AND that the proceeds go towards a good cause.
7. If you spend a lot of time at the frat AEPi because that is where all your best guy friends are.
8. If you love your Big more than words can describe.
The day your Big took you as her Little was the happiest day of your life, well next to actually becoming a Sig Delt that is. You know your Big is always going to be there for you no matter what, and she is not only your siSDTer, but your best friend.
9. If the friends that you've made in just a short amount of time are ones that you know are going to be in your life forever.
10. You know you've found your home.
P.S. Thanks to one of my siSDTers for the great article idea!
