8 Signs That You're At Risk Of Being Labeled A Tomboy
Teen Idols 4 You

Whether you're a sundress wearing, makeup doing, hair-curling girly girl or the girl wearing the dirty sweatpants with your hair in a bun and yesterday's bits of makeup left on, my hope is that everyone can relate to at least a few of these points because, let's be honest, acting like a girly girl can get rather tiresome...

Here's a list of signs that you could be, or maybe always have been, a lady with a tomboy's heart:

1. People have a hard time recognizing you in attire that does not include sweats, t-shirts, and fuzzy socks.

Look good, feel good, do good? Hard pass; how about just feel good? AKA wake up ten minutes before any social obligation and throw on whatever comfortable clothes are laying around that possess only a minimal amount of unpleasant odor. Don't get me wrong, I have my sundress days every month or six as well, but if that's not you then just keep on rockin' those sweatpants, beautiful!

2. You catch yourself swearing once or twenty-three times a day... whoops.

I think this is like, one of the major lady laws, right? You're supposed to speak modestly and with class...well, looks like I dropped the ball on this one as well. Let's get real though, the dictionary of curse words is so versatile and colorful that it really isn't our fault if we can't stop using those words, am I right?

Screw it, I'm full of shit, I know. Swear words are fun.

3. Here's a classic sign; you have more guy friends than girl friends.

Although girls who have multiple guy friends can often receive a bad rep because of idiotic stereotypes, there's typically one main reason why this is actually occurring; you're a girl, therefore you know what many girls are like, and as a result choose to keep your distance....a lot of distance. As much as I love my friends that are girls and think they're awesome, I do enjoy the time I spend with my guy friends where there is minimal drama and cattiness. Typically our chill time consists of a bunch of stupid conversation and stuffing our faces with food.

4. You tend to forget that feelings are typically something needing to be expressed; internalization is your safe space.

As we're probably all aware by now, the male species isn't always specialized in the art of communication. This is typically seen more as a female characteristic... Unless, of course, you're a female that tends to have the personality of a male.

Kidding, kind of. I've questioned many times if I was born without the part of my brain that helps me know how to be girly...if that's even a thing. Anyways, I replace my feelings with food

5. Your personal hygiene could probably use a little bit of work...

Girls who shower every day... Why? Save water, save money, save the Earth. Read a book, bake a cake, visit your grandma, it doesn't matter. Just please take a day off and give the hair washing a rest. Those like me who do not possess even one girly bone in their body probably know the struggle of having to explain to people that you NEED an excess of dry shampoo because you only shower 2-3 times a week. Deodorant is optional, and laundry gets done twice a month. Thank goodness for cheap body mist and baby wipes.

6. Manners can, at times, sporadically disappear.

If please and thank-you are about as far as your manners can take you then you just might be a tomboy. Chewing with your mouth open, belching, farting, being a little too blunt at times, having posture similar to the Hunchback of Notre Dame; these are all major aspects of being a tomboy. Trust me, I'm a pro at all of them.

7. Hair and makeup are out of the question.

One thing I will never be able to comprehend is how there are people that are capable of waking up, getting dressed, doing their hair and makeup, all for an 8 am class or shift at work. I realize that I will one day be required to figure it out when I begin a serious career, but for now, I will remain mind blown. My body requires enough sleep so that at least my personality can be attractive the next day.

8. You never stop eating.

This one is rather self-explanatory; diets don't exist and Taco Bell is life.

Well, there you have it. If you display any of the above symptoms there is a chance that you are and possibly always have been a tomboy. We might have our lady-like moments occasionally, but we always know where our hearts lie; in baskets of wings and dirty laundry.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
