1. She can throw back a beer with you and sometimes better than you, yet she can drink a martini or glass of wine with the best of them.
This girl can be low-key and pound a few beers when necessary, she can also funnel and shotgun like she was born at a frat house. However, if the situation requires, she’ll drink a glass of red wine with your mom or surprise you by ordering a cosmo at the bar. That's what's fun about the girl that can do both, she always keeps it interesting.
2. She can talk sports while actually understanding and enjoying it.
She knows her shit when it comes to sports, yet she doesn’t have to prove it to anyone. She can contribute to a conversation and surprise whatever dude is sitting there with her worthwhile comments instead of the predictable “look at his butt” or “I love the color of their uniforms”. Some of us just actually like sports, and we don’t pay attention just to impress you.
3. She can hold her own while hanging out with your bros, but loves a good girl’s night with wine and trash TV.
As women, we most definitely need our girl time. No boyfriend wants to hear about what happened on Rob&Chyna or Basketball Wives, LA. This is exactly what girl’s nights are for. We need time to gossip, spill about what so-and-so posted on Instagram, and die over a hundred different memes that we tag one another in. On the flip side, we can definitely do the bro thing if necessary. Whether its out to the bar, at a fire, or watching the game at home, we can be the non-naggy, laid back type that just chills with the guys, too.
4. She knows how to take shit without getting offended and she can dish it back even better.
Your guy friends really wont know what hit them when they try to give us a hard time. We can dish it just like we can take it, and trust me; we can take a whole lot. No jokes by your dudes are going to bend us out of shape, but they better not get butt-hurt if we crack a joke right back at them. The girl that can do both knows it is all just fun and games, and that’s why she doesn’t take it too seriously.
5. She understands when you need your guy time, yet expects you to put effort into making some time for her also
This is probably the most important part of getting you a girl that can do both. She knows the importance of guy time, just like she values her girl time. She knows that she will never play the role that your friends do and expects you to not always invite her. However, she also demands effort from you on occasion. She wants to spend quality time with you in every way, whether that’s going out together or staying in. She doesn’t mind having to remind you once and awhile, but will most likely get tired of it if she sees a lack of effort over time.
6. She’s extremely independent and pretends like she doesn’t need you for anything, but we all know she does
This girl is really good at faking the fact that she can do it all. She keeps her shit together, goes to school, works, and makes time for you and her friends. Yet she’s totally lying when she says she doesn’t need you at all. She may not need you for things like money or materials, but she needs you emotionally. This girl is really great at pretending that she’s tough, but we all know at the end of the day, she just wants to be held and comforted. If she’s stressed, she’ll push you away, but don’t let her. We want you to fight for us and we want you to push back.
7. She isn’t afraid to admit what’s up, but doesn’t make a big deal about the little stuff
The girl that can do both will not be afraid to tell you if something is bothering her. That’s the best part. Guys are always saying that we are so hard to figure out, and that they never know what we’re thinking. Well this girl alleviates that with the fact that she’s almost too blunt and too honest. With that being said, you’ll never see this girl making a big deal out of nothing, especially not in public. She knows better than to get upset over petty things and can have an adult conversation, as long as you’re listening.
8. She doesn’t need play games, but she’s guilty of overthinking on occasion
The unwritten rule of girlhood is overthinking. We are bound to consider and reconsider thoughts and situations in our heads a thousand times before we either drive ourselves to the brink of insanity or come to a conclusion about something. The girl that can do both doesn’t find it necessary to play any games with you. She’ll be pretty straightforward about her feelings and expects the same in return. Yet if you start ghosting her, or acting suspicious, what girl wouldn’t wonder what’s up? As a rule of thumb, if you question whether a girl is crazy, ask yourself what you’ve done to drive her there.
9. She’s a tomboy, but she can act and look like Miss Maine if necessary and when it comes down to it
This girl is one of a kind because although she cares deeply about her appearance, she doesn’t mind getting a little dirt on her hands or her mind. The term ‘tomboy’ can mean a lot of things. To girls that can do both, it most likely means that she knows how to shoot guns, can pee in the woods and doesn’t mind playing in the dirt. This is not to say that she can’t clean up so well you’d probably second guess whether or not she was the same girl drinking beer and riding shotgun earlier. This is one of the most fun parts of seeing a girl who doesn’t require a whole lot. Give her a beer and some country music and she’ll be just fine. But again, her looks obviously caught your attention at first, so it’s just a bonus that she can do both.
10. She has guy friends, but her circle of girls is above all and they know exactly what’s up
I can’t count the number of times I’ve seen memes that say, “You versus the guy she tells you not to worry about”. If a girl that can do both tells you she’s friends with guys and has never given you a reason to believe otherwise, you should probably trust her. Guy friends are god’s gift to girls like us. This is because they can spot the real douchebags from miles away and have saved us from many unwanted encounters. They teach us how to be tough, and they’re most likely the reason we’re so good at being so chill. The girl that can do both without a doubt has a circle of close guy friends that have always been there. On the other hand, this girl most likely has a small group of girlfriends that are just like her, and they know everything. They are her support system and they keep her in check. Trust me, the likelihood that they have handcrafted almost every text you’ve ever received is high, and they probably know what you had for breakfast before you do.
This is truly the fun of dating a down to earth girl who has a little wild in her eyes, but an extremely good heart. She never wants to do you wrong, and will constantly try to be your friend overall; that’s the basis of your relationship and that’s why you just can’t get enough of her. You have enough in common to be bros, yet you see her as the girl you never want to lose.
