10 Reasons Why You Hate The Cold

Winter has been upon us for awhile now, but it has been a pretty mild one. For some of us, living in the cold is OK; but if you are anything like me, you absolutely hate the cold. Plus, living in the city in the winter doesn't make it any better. Here is a list of reasons why the cold sucks.

1. You feel like you are living in Alaska everyday.

Sure, the sun is shining, but it's still -9 degrees outside.

2. You have nowhere to put that giant coat you're wearing.

Sure, the coat is nice while you're walking through that chilly weather, but what happens when you get to class and you can't put it anywhere?

3. The wind gusts basically have you blowing away.

The wind tunnels on campus have you fearing for your life.

4. Waking up in the winter is 10 times harder.

Waking up in the summer is way easier because you want to go outside. In the winter, however, all you want to do is stay bundled up in bed.

5. When it's cold you always get sick.

Lets face it — no matter what you do, you always end up getting sick in the winter.

6. Bad hair day everyday.

Your hair always looks flat and frizzy from being under your hat.

7. Having to walk to class in fear of getting frostbite.

It's so cold that you're afraid to take your hand out of your pocket — you might get frostbite.

8. Winter clothes suck.

Yeah, some winter clothes are cute, but finding something to wear in the winter is way harder than in the summer.

9. Having to watch where you walk all the time.

Whether it is snow or ice, you always have to watch where you walk so you that don't slip and die.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
