When I'm not doing homework, I'm sleeping. When I'm not sleeping, I'm eating. When I'm not eating, I'm trying to socialize. And when I'm not socializing, it's probably because I picked Netflix over trying to make new friends (because really who needs new people when your people already exist @ShondaRhimes , thank you, I love you). Because procrastination is every college student's middle name and it's usually due to over binging of Netflix, you've probably run out of shows to watch. And if you've found that you've run out of shows to watch, here are 10 reasons why "Grey's Anatomy" should be your new show, because it is hands down the best show to binge on. Or maybe just hands down the best show. When you catch up-let me know what you think.
1. McDreamy (also known as Derek Shepard)
If you don't find this face attractive, you probably can't be trusted. Plus his cute relationships and his excellent doctor skills are a great reason to watch too.
2. McSteamy (also known as Mark Sloan)
If you don't find this face attractive as well, you really can't be trusted. And if you aren't going to watch for his face excellent surgical ability, at least watch for his big heart that he tries to cover up with a bad-boy attitude.
3. The sass that is Christina Yang.
If there is one person that I would like to be in life, it'd be Christina Yang (sorry Serena Van Der Woodsen, you lost your top spot.) Her sass and her attitude are the epitome of not giving two hoots about anything, and she always has her eye on the prize. Also, she has the best one-liners in TV history.
4. MerDer
Yes, I just used a couple name in my article. No, I'm not sorry-because if you go and watch Grey's Anatomy, you'll fall in love with this couple just as much as the rest of us have. Though they've had their ups and downs throughout the years, they've always found their way back to each other, and will give you a reason to keep watching the show no matter how many times Shonda breaks your heart. (That's a lot, by the way. I'd sit with tissues every episode).
5. George.
No matter how many times George does something that makes you wanna punch a wall or have a mental breakdown, he's still George. And he'll always make you smile because that's just who he is.
6. Alex Karev
You'll hate him. For a very long time. But then he does the little things, and all of a sudden you're actually praying to Shonda-God that you get your very own Karev one day.
7. Izzie Stevens
No matter how many times you want to strangle Izzie, she's the "light" in this show. No matter what happens, she tries to see the positive and tries to reason with what happened. Even when she draws the short end of the straw, she still does her best to smile, be happy and make others happy in the process.
8. Meredith and Christina. Together.
The original people. Who created the phrase "my person." If you haven't watched Grey's, I won't be giving this away for you, because once you hear it and find out what it means-you'll describe everyone who is your person like that. But it isn't just this term that they created, it's their friendship that should be a major reason you watch the show. From the highs to the lows (that turn into highs after a famous dance session), they're notorious and if you feel like giving up on this amazing show, just think about all the Meredith and Christina you'll miss out on. They believe in each other, they support each other, they're pessimists together, they sass each other, and most of all they're each others person-they love each other no matter what.
9. Dr. Bailey
Sorry Coach Taylor (Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can't Not Watch Grey's) but I now want Dr. Bailey as my life coach. While at times she may seem too harsh, her methods eventually prove to be successful. Not only that, but she gives the best advice to everyone at Seattle Grace-from the interns to the Chief of Surgery and everyone in between. And on the rare occasion that Bailey's soft side does come out, it'll make you love her even more and those moments are an even greater reason to watch the show.
10. The original five interns
Though there are new interns brought in every few seasons, Meredith, Christina, George, Izzie and Alex are the reason you fall in love with the show in the first place. They're the first characters you meet and the reason you kept watching. Their ups and downs become your ups and downs, their smiles and tears become your smiles tears and their stories very quickly (faster than what could be considered social acceptable at some points), become your stories too. They're hysterical and heartbreaking all at once. Plus their little clique has given you major FOMO and almost makes you want to apply to med school just to meet your clique too. Key word being almost (due to the fact that you're about to binge watch 11 seasons of this show instead of writing that paper that was due probably a day ago).
