Sisterhood plays such an important part in the lives of women. Whether it be sisterhood in a sorority, a ministry organization, or a simple friends group; the women you surround yourself with influence and impact your life so much. Some reasons sisterhood is important are:

1. Support

Change in our lives can be hard and sometimes we don't adjust to the changes well. Having a good support system to stand behind you is such an amazing feeling. Sisters are basically the best group of cheerleaders you've ever had.

2. Best secret keepers

You can put your trust in the women you surround yourself with. Submerging yourself into a group of women who you can tell anything to will create a bond that is unbreakable. There may be things going on in your life that you may not want the world to know, but in sisterhood, secrets and struggles are kept safe and in the comfort of those whom you trust.

3. You always have a friend

Want to have a night out? Want to have a night in? In sisterhood, there is almost always someone in the group who would love to do exactly what you want to do. Why not do it together? There is no better shotgun rider than your best friend with some great tunes. Creating memories with these women will last you for years to come.

4. Inspiration

When it comes to inspiration in sisterhood, you're basically untouchable. Sadly, sometimes people hurt you or will tear you down. A woman you would call a sister is there no matter what. She loves you and cares for you, she wants to see you do your best. She wants you to be the best version of yourself that you can be. There is no better inspiration than what comes from women who love and support each other in all that they do.

5. Accountability

Sisters who hold you accountable for your actions are the best ones to have. When sisters get to know each other, it is easy for them to learn the morals and values they each have. If you are ever in a situation where a decision could hurt your values or morals, they will just remind you of the woman they know.

6. Friends for life

Though you may lose touch with some of the wonderful women you surround yourself with, they will be the women who even if you called them years down the road, they would pick up. They will always be there for support, to help you if you have a problem and simply be a friend.

7. Comfort

Sisterhood can be a comfort zone for many. In sisterhood, you can be yourself around the women you spend time with. You can chow down on all of the snacks you want, binge watch Netflix all day and nobody will judge you. Heck, they might even join in on the fun. This group of ladies will know you best and the reason they know the real you is because you take comfort in their company.

8. Best advice givers

Having a rough time? The best people to seek advice from are those who know you best. The women you surround yourself with will be able to give you advice from all sorts of angles because their thinking is so diverse. They will also be able to tell you what is best for you.

9. You mentor others

Sisterhood is so powerful in so many ways. A group of strong women can lead so many others. There are people who feel like they don't belong or maybe haven't found their home yet. A huge part to mentoring others is to reach out to people who are different than you. A group of women can lead younger generations to carry themselves with respect, passion for things and love for others.

10. You push each other

Sisterhood is so extremely important because a group of women wanting each other to do well is something not everyone has the privilege of having. Having someone stand behind you, telling you, "you can do it," is an amazing feeling.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
