10 Reasons Why I Love Friends
U.S Weekly

Having watched bits and pieces of episodes of Friends here and there in the past, I wouldn't have called myself the biggest fan of the show. I never took the time to sit and watch more than two or three episodes in a row because I could never get into the show. This was my first mistake. About midway through this past summer, a close friend of mine kept talking about how funny the characters on the show were, how much she enjoyed the short and sweet episodes, and tried to convince me over and over that the show was fun to watch once you got into it. I had just recently finished a series that was action packed and full of drama, and I needed a change of pace for a while, so I decided to give Friends a chance. This was my second mistake. Four episodes into the first season and I was hooked. Here are the top ten reasons why I am now an avid fan of Friends....

1. The show makes you laugh anywhere from a quiet, little giggle to a full blown ROFL.

Chandler Bing is everything I wish to be in a comedian.

2. Each character has something to love about them.

Whether its Chandler's humor, Phoebe's down to Earth personality, Monica's mothering, Joey's crazy ideas, or Ross' hopeless romanticism, there's something for everyone to fall in love with on the show.

3. It just puts you in a good mood.

An episode a day keeps the blues away.

4. The theme song is always stuck in your head....and you don't mind.

"SO no one told you life was gonna be this way...."

5. You begin to have unrealistic expectations that every time you look out your dorm window there will be an "ugly, naked guy."

I'm actually really glad that doesn't happen.

6. You're now waiting for "Smelly Cat" to make its one-hit-wonder debut.

It's catchy after the first 20 times!

7. There is plenty to be watched.

Don't worry about post- series depression because 10 seasons times 20 episodes per season makes for a whole lot of Friends.

8. Supporting characters like Janice make you love the main characters even more.

Part of me liked her annoying laugh....and part of me was glad to see her go.

9. There is no place like Central Perk.

Phoebe's music, Gunther's coffee, and the old yellow couch make for a great hangout.

10. You can relate each of the characters to at least one of your friends in real life.

There are a few Monica's in my life, and I'd like to think that I am the Chandler.

So, if you haven't fallen for Friends already turn on that TV and get going!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
