1. Who wants for life? Four years is definitely enough.
I don't want sisters that I can call at any time just to hang out or to talk about absolutely anything. I prefer to have friends that are only there when life is going great.
2. Those frat house basements?
I hate those super sticky floors, the loud music, and talking to boys that might have cooties. Forget building relationships with other members of the Greek community. I'd rather sit in my bed and watch Friends on Netflix.
3. All of the traditions.
No one wants to be held down by rituals made by women in the 1800s that can shape you better as a woman, and make you more successful in life. After all, putting meanings behind flowers and different shapes is kinda weird and following in the footsteps of a lot of great women sounds like a lot of pressure.
4. No one actually likes crafting.
It's so expensive, takes up way too much time, and it's really difficult. It's not like the amount of hours I put into one craft will make a sister feel important or even loved with how much care I put into it. She'll probably just toss it aside, instead of proudly displaying it on her wall.
5. Way too much philanthropy.
Competing for other house's philanthropies is so juvenile and way too much effort. Plus, why do we have to put so much time into our philanthropy? Raising thousands of dollars for people in need or for a certain cause isn't rewarding at all.
6. Sorority house chefs are much too good at making food.
Living in the house just results in weight gain. And the house is so far from my dorm. Why go across campus when I can just go downstairs and toast a bagel or eat some moldy salad? I prefer the sub par dorm food than the delicacies that the chefs make.
7. Studying together with sisters is just too distracting.
I can't focus around all of them, and study parties are just an excuse to talk instead of focusing on homework. I prefer to work alone, and getting any homework help from girls in my major, or older girls who took those classes, just isn't helpful. In addition, the facts that Greeks have a higher cumulative GPA than non-Greek students just sounds a little crazy, and like a lot of work.
8. Sisterhood is way too emphasized.
Like who wants to go to events specially planned to strengthen bonds and foster the relationships between sisters? I hate getting my nails done, eating fro-yo, and tie-dyeing together.
9. Greeks totally just pay for their friends.
No one actually likes each other and when I want to talk to someone, no one ever answers. We never help a sister who's in a jam, and we definitely don't try to help out our house mom, housekeeper, or our chefs. After all, passing around cards or taking the time out of your day for a sister is just too much effort, and Greeks don't care about a sister in need.
10. When I text someone about just hanging out, no one ever shows up unless it involves going to a crazy party.
We never have nights to just actually watch Netflix and chill with some pizza. All Greeks like is partying and we hate spending time with our sisters, unless it involves red solo cups. No one actually likes staying in and just enjoying the company of their sisters; that's just a sappy movie perception.
