New Girl is an amazing show with some great and relatable characters. It is fairly common to find articles on why Jess Day is an inspiration, or why Nick Miller can be found in all of us. One character who does not get the recognition that he deserves is Winston Bishop. Here are 10 reasons why I think everyone needs a friend like Winston.

1. He is always down for food, no body shaming here.

Everyone needs that one friend who is always down for eating like fat kids together. Junk food is always more enjoyable with a eating buddy and no one likes to go out to eat alone. Either way Winston is your guy.

2. He isn't afraid to tell you that your outfit needs to be changed.

It's ok to admit that sometimes you just can't seem to match your clothes, Winston will be there to let you know if you look presentable or not. Remember, first impressions are hard to change and what you wear can say a lot about who you are.

3. He will always be down for karaoke.

When you are out for a night of fun with the group, you know that it will be hard to find someone to sing with you, because we all know you're not going up there alone. Winston will be down to save the night and have many good stories for years to come.

4. He knows how to party and more importantly how to handle a hangover.

It is hard to say you know someone really well until you have survived a hangover together, lucky for you Winston knows how to handle hangovers like a champ.

5. He is always down to proof read that paper you wrote at 2 am.

College is a wonderful time to learn who you are. It is also filled of caffeine induced all nighters trying to get all your work done. Not everyone can write a grammatically correct paper in the middle of the night so it is always a good idea to have a friend like Winston proof read.

6. When you are in need of advice he always knows the right thing to say.

Everyone has bad days, and normally it is our friends who are there to help cheer us up. It is even better when they have a charmingly odd way of putting everything like Winston.

7. He will tell you when you need to chill.

Sometimes our rants or sassy can get to a level that nobody expected. That's why we all need someone like Winston to tell it like it is and snap us out of it.

8. But he will always have your back when you need him like the bro he is.

Even though he may put you in your place every now and then, he will always be there when you really need it.

9. The two of you can embrace your crazy together.

It's hard when you feel like you can't be yourself around your friends because you are worried they might think you're to weird. Lucky for you Winston has no problem with weird.

10. He will always love you.

Winston is that friend who will always love you and is not embarrassed to tell you so.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
