10 Reasons We'll Miss The Obamas

Politics aside, there's no denying that the First Family is one of a kind.

In these past eight years they've had challenges, triumphs, ups and downs, much like any other family. Only difference is that they are held at the highest pedestal, and rightfully so since they hold the highest the highest and perhaps most important position in the country. Unfortunately, like all great things, Obama's presidency must come to an end, which means we have to say goodbye.

Here are a few of the many reasons why I'll miss the Obamas:

1. Barack and Michelle's relationship.

These two are the prime example of what marriage should be like. They're always able to show love, respect, support and pride for each other. Not only are they still very cute after 20-something years together, but they never fail to have fun together and make others laugh.

2. Their dedication to public service.

Despite being the president, Obama and his family always took time to volunteer and help others. This truly made Barack a president of the people.

3. They broke one of many glass ceilings.

Not only is Obama the first president of color to take office, but his family is the first non-white in history to reside in the White House. The Obamas made history, and made sure to inspire many other minorities to do the same, always advocating that anything is possible no matter where you come from.

4. Obama's humor.

Not only does the man have a great sense of humor, but he's got style too.

5. Michelle's intelligence, class, sass...everything.

There is just so much to say about this woman. She is someone every girl and woman can look up to. She manages to have elegance and class all whilst being incredibly down to earth and relatable. Without mentioning her tireless work advocating for education, kindness, health, etc.

6. The love and respect they have for each other.

You can tell they all have great admiration and love for each other, representing what every family should be like.

7. Michelle's "Let's Move!" initiative.

As someone who cares a great deal about health and wellbeing, I admire Michelle for addressing and bringing to light this issue. Plus, dancing is another thing to add to the list of things the First Lady is amazing at.

8. Obama and Biden's friendship.

All there really is to say here is thank you for all the great memes. Jokes aside, there is something to learn about the President and Vice President's friendship; united we stand.

9. Their inspirational speeches.

Michelle and Barack are great speakers and they're speeches are always filled with incredible messages of hope, as they try to inspire their audience.

10. Their strength, grace and poise with which they've dealt with any obstacle thrown their way.

No matter what happened, they always took the high road and fought to lead with love, never inspiring hate.

And with that said, thank you Obamas, you will most certainly be missed.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
