Either you had an awful roommate experience, or it worked out really well for you your freshman year. The second time around though, you have the option to live with someone you are already friends with, and/or met last year. You already know them really well, or lived with them for a year. Either way, this year has already been a ton of fun, seeing that you've already been friends. So let me just say how great that is...
1. No filters/honest advice:
Living with someone you are already friends with makes honest conversation more frequent. You don't have to beat around the bush when it comes to giving each other advice, because you really do have each others' best interest at heart and being straight forward is the way to go. This also means there are no filters, you say what we want and we are completely yourselves, which can be a good or bad thing, depending on which way you look at it.
2. Sharing clothes:
Thank God for this one, for the nights where you "have nothing to wear" you know their closet is always open, and vise versa. So thank you for the second closet girl.
3. Someone to vent to:
You trust them, so anything you say is between you two. You value their advice, so when they give it you know it's with your best interest in mind. So the nights with long talks and venting are definitely a given.
4. They know your past:
Since you have already known each other for some time, you don't need to give them the run down of your past, well because one, they already know it, or two, they lived it with you. They know what you've been through and they know who you are as a person because of it. Therefore, there is no need for the background story on your life, because they get it.
5. Move in day isn't awkward:
Move in day isn't uncomfortable since you and your families already know each other well. Every is super relaxed since, for one, you've done this already, and, two, everyone knows everyone in the room.
6. Being yourself:
Living with a best friend allows me to be myself 100 percent of the time. Which means my random bursts of weirdness, dance parties, or singing loudly are accepted. I can be myself at all times and they can do the same.
7. Already have things in common:
Being friends with them and choosing to live with obviously means you have to have at least some things and common and enjoy doing the same stuff. So living with them is so much easier when you have a gym buddy but also someone to order a late night pizza with for a girls night in.
8. Getting synced up:
Since you are constantly together it's not uncommon that you get synced up with each other. That can be a real struggle tho, but hey, at least the two of you can suffer the pain together right? Oops.
9. Teaching each other new things:
Although you might be close friends and have plenty of things in common with one another, there are definitely some things you can teach each other. For instance what to do when you get sick, doing makeup, or whatever it may be, you are always learning something from the other.
10. Um, you're living with a best friend, duh:
You're living with a best friend, so what could be better? You always have someone to do something with. Whether it's going to dinner, going out, or a girls night in. Whatever it is, you have a gal pal no matter what.
