The most popular joke during sorority Big/Little week is that you meet your Big or Little and love them so much, even though you've only known each other for a few minutes. It's funny to joke about, but I promise you, there's a reason why we love our Big or Little so much the second you get that first official hug as Big and Little.

1. Bigs have spent weeks preparing the gifts they are about to shower their Little with, and often wreck their rooms while doing so. Chances are, they didn't sleep on their bed.

2. Not only do Bigs stalk Littles, but they take the time to figure out and find some of your favorite things. (Even if that means finding your favorite Hogwarts candy.)

3. Bigs bring special guests to entertain, and maybe serenade, their Little.

4. Littles know Bigs stay up for hours some nights making sure crafts are exactly what the Little imagined.

5. Bigs take time out of their hectic schedule to make sure Littles get everything they could need and want, and maybe a few random things.

6. Littles can feel the love their Big has from them, even though they can't actually see their Big.

7. When LIttles run down the hill, everyone can easily see the excitement on both faces.

8. How can a Little not love someone that is standing there screaming their name with arms open as wide as possible?

9. You know deep inside there's a reason you were paired together as Big/Little. Maybe they'll be the one to look after you, encourage you, get you out of your comfort zone, or maybe all of the above and more! You love them because you know they wanted you to be a part of your life, not for four years, but for life.

10. You love your Big and Little for everything they've done for you and everything they will do for you. You love them for being the shoulder to cry on, the nights out together, the nights in together, the love, laughter, the voice of reason, but also the voice to tell you "YOLO," and everything else you could ever need or imagine having.

11. After being a Little, I never thought it could get any better. My Big was always there to shower me with love, laughter and pure joy. Then I became a Big, and things got even better! I got to shower someone with love the way my big did for me. Yes, the second I found out who they were, I did scream "I LOVE YOU" from the top of my lungs, because even though we only officially knew each other as Big and Little for five minutes, I knew the amount of love between us was unlike any other.
