As the days tick by, we get closer and closer to the release of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life (November 25th is almost here). If you are a crazed fan like I am, you absolutely can NOT wait any longer! I can't wait for the witty banter, the excessive coffee drinking and town meetings that are about to take place, but I am extremely excited to see the actual Gilmore Girls all back together again. Life would not be complete without Rory's unlimited knowledge, Lorelai's randomness and of course Emily's can do it/will do it attitude. Ever since the series ended in May of 2007, fans just like me have felt like the Gilmore Girl's story was still very much untold. I needed to know if Lorelei and Luke ended up together and what Rory actually decided to do with her life? How is Kirk, Miss Patty, and Taylor Doose? Ugh, the agony that came with the final episode in the series and feeling like after seven seasons, you still wanted more of Gilmore Girls & Co.
So over the years, I have been re-watching the whole series sporadically and remembering the good ole' days when Rory, Lorelai and Emily were taking up my nights with their insanity. Of course, since it was announced that Gilmore Girls is officially coming back with new episodes, I have been reminiscing by binge watching the amazing series on the daily! By obsessively watching the series, I have fallen in love again with all three Gilmore women and have come to realize that each and every one of them have qualities that I absolutely love. Between the three of them, they make it hard to pick a favorite. So here is my ten reasons why they are all my spirit animals:
1. Lorelai and Rory love coffee more than life.
I'm pretty sure that I could never handle the 20 cups of coffee a day that they drink, but I relate so much to the need for it. I don't think I could live without the taste and the caffeine it supplies for me. Death before decaf is their motto!
2. Emily Gilmore is naturally flawless.
Like seriously, who wouldn't want to be her? She's got the right amount of money, class and sass (maybe more sass than needed, but I love it anyway).
3. They are funny without even trying.
I try so hard, but I don't think I could ever get on their level. Even though they aren't actual people, in my world, they are the funniest people around.
4. Lorelai has THE BEST facial expressions around.
If only everyone could be this awkward and still be totally cool.
5. And she has the best dance moves.
Again, who could be so cool and awkward at the same time?! Lorelei Gilmore can! I would get many weird looks, if I broke this move out on the dance floor...LOL!
6. The fact that Rory will literally read anything is just straight awesome to me.
I love to read, but the fact that she can, for example, read through books by Jane Austen, just really really amazes me. I wish I had the attention span to do that.
7. They voice their opinions no matter how random.
Thank you ladies, for always saying the things we are all to scared to.
8. Lorelai & Rory have the best taste in friends.
Everyone needs a Sookie St. James, Paris Geller and Lane Kim in their lives. You just do. Because they are awesome.
9. They also have the best taste in guys.
I know I'm not the only one who will forever be Team Dean. Love that guy!
10. They generate phrases that you will forever be used in your vocabulary now.
Like, how genius are these?!
Honestly, I have loved no three women on a TV series more than I love these three. They are awesome in every way and if you throw them all together it is complete beautiful madness! Now you must go and re-watch all seven seasons right now to prepare yourself for all the great things that are about to come from Stars Hallow and Hartford, Connecticut!
