10 Reasons Dogs are a Girls Best Friend

Some say it's diamonds, others say it's food, but we all know who the real girl's best friend is! Whether as a puppy or as a rescued veteran, we chose them to be a part of our lives. However, you never know just how important they will become to you. As the days go by, they become your reading buddy, car sing along companion, and running partner. But what about dogs makes them so much better than any other animal? Let me (a seasoned dog mom of a big ol' pup) give you a few reasons why they're so awesome, just in case you weren't sure!

10. They are excellent cleaning companions

"Oh, my human is putting my toys away! She looks like she is enjoying this... let me drag them out again for you, my human!"

"Vacuum?? You mean vicious, sound maker?! It's has taken my human captive! Don't worry, human. I will bark at it and it will let you go!!!"

9. They are the least judgmental passengers

Me: *Singing/Performing pop songs with bass booming and the sunroof open*

Pup: "Ooo I can sing too!" *ahem*..... (Howls Voraciously) "Human, we have the perfect harmony!"

8. They are the best fitness motivators on the planet

Me: "This is a nice jogging pace... I can enjoy this for another mile!"

Pup: "Well, we've warmed up! Now it's time to take my human on a nice run!" (Runs 30 seconds)

7. They keep the bed warm for us single ladies

"My human is getting into bed in the next ten seconds.... Time to lay down in her spot to keep it warm!"

6. They don't judge when you decide to Netflix your night away

"My human has pulled out a blanket and the remote! This is the best day ever!! Cuddle time!!!"

*Proceeds to jump on your lap even though they're 75 pounds and take up half the couch*

5. They're really good homework helpers

"Mom just pulled out a book? Let me help her read!" (paw takes up half of page) "This makes no sense.... I'll just lay on my human instead!"

4. They're the best at drying your tears after a bad day

(sobs and blows nose)

Pup: "That's my signal! Mama needs me! Don't cry mama! I'll kiss it better!"

(Mama gets taken over by a slobbery kiss attack)

3. They're always happy to see you, even if you didn't treat them well the last time you saw them

"My human is home and I love my human! I can't wait to see her!! I love her so much!"

2. They're the Original Gossips

Me: "Hey! Can you keep a secret for me?"

Pup: "Gossip?! Mama I'm here for you! Tell me all about it!"

1. They're the most loyal friend you'll ever have

No matter what comes your way, your puppy will always love you. They're not going anywhere and they'll be here for the long run, through boyfriends, friend breakups, and college. There's no doubt: you'll never meet a better friend than your four legged buddy!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
