Age is but a number, especially when it comes to watching Disney movies. You are never too old to watch them, mainly because they have something to amuse everybody and there is no shame in enjoying these movies whether it is every once in a while or everyday.

1. They bring us a childlike joy.

Chances are you have watched at least one Disney movie as a kid, and if not, it is never too late to start. Maybe it is the charm of the cartoon innocence or the ability to daydream about any Disney movie actually being your life. Whatever it is, it makes it easy to feel like a kid again with just one click of the play button.

2. They can make you both laugh and cry.

Contrary to popular belief, there are plenty of layers to Disney movies. They are not simply all love stories; within the love stories are stories of tragedy (and though sometimes they are unexplained) Disney characters had a life before their journey was televised. Although they end with a happily ever after, most tell us of some hardship before any heroic moment. Half of them get captured or almost die before the fairy tale ending, which makes the finish that much better.

3. They are relatable despite your age.

Due to the multiple pieces of these movies there is probably a part that connects to your life in someway, whether that be overbearing parents, family tragedy, love, never wanting to grow up, or the desire to see the world. No matter what is going on in your life, there is bound to be a Disney plot that encompass specific portions of it. Although, you may not be trying to run your own kingdom or defeat evil villains.

4. They provide us glimmers of hope.

There is no question that life can be tough sometimes and we can doubt if our dreams will ever come true. Although we know how the typical Disney story ends, the character does not know there is a silver lining as they are working through the rough patches in life. Then, out of no where they run into some help or get some problems solves, and of course the princesses/princes get their happily ever after. And since Disney movies can connect to our lives, it is not too far fetched to happen to us too, right?

5. They give us a theme song.

Whether your Disney jam is "A Whole new World," "Whistle While you Work," or "Be Our Guest," there is always that one song that - when it pops into your head - makes you think about your life or the one you want in your future. Which then, of course, becomes one of your favorites.

6. They have progressed with the times.

If you feel like watching a movie with an old-time feel, go to Disney's beginning collection. If you want to see a movie where the woman have more of a voice, watch the ones in the middle. And if you want to watch one where a family member is the hero, look into the newer ones. There is a choice for everybody and the plots are getting stronger. Not only that, but technologically the animation has improved ten-fold.

7. They help you reminisce about the good old days.

Based on this, as you grow up, Disney grows up with you too. There was practically a Disney movie for each year you got older, connected with many memories. They were always staples of the year and you may have watched them more than five times.

8.The colors and creativity are through the roof.

Not only was the early animation all hand drawn, but some of the newer movies are filled with bright colors that fill the imagination. Sometimes the brightness of these movies guides our happiness and some of the story lines include things that had not typically occurred in movies before that time. Between talking objects, seven dwarfs, and pet reindeer Disney is up on the creative radar.

9. There are so many cute animals.

Who does not love an animal appearance? There are movies with princesses who sing to animals and movies strictly with animal plots. They are pretty much the most adorable things ever, and we all wish they existed in real life.

10. The hidden adult humor.

Of course, we all have heard of or seen at least one example of this. The fact that Disney would try that hard to include witty comments that intrigue adults but go over children's head, just means that Disney wins.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
