10 Reasons I Will Always Miss High School Choir

Without choir life would B♭.

10 Reasons I Will Always Miss High School Choir

There aren't many things I miss about high school. I could probably count them on one hand. There are way too many cringe-worthy memories. But if there's one part of high school that I'll always remember fondly, it's choir. Here's why:

1. Warm-ups

Yes, we look ridiculous. But we look ridiculous together.

2. When the harmonies are on point

It's a beautiful feeling when you finally hit that sweet spot and fall in love with the sound.

3. Voice cracks galore

It happens to the best of us. And even though it happens to everyone, it's still embarrassing. But by no means will we ever be judged for those voice cracks, even if it's during a performance.

4. Finally nailing that one part in the song that you could never get

You've been rehearsing the piece for weeks on end. And you just keep messing up. Your choir director has shot you countless glares. And then, one day ... it happens. You finally sing the right thing. Go you!

5. Having access to the choir room

While other students are sitting in the cafeteria or in the quad during lunch break, (boring!), you can spend forty minutes jamming in the choir room with your friends. And just like that, lunch turns into an episode of "Glee."

6. It's an opportunity to express yourself

Once you step foot into that choir room, you're in a judgment-free zone.

7. Bonding

You may have absolutely nothing in common with a person except for two things: your love for choir, and getting annoyed at how loud the sopranos are.

8. Unforgettable performances

Nothing beats that moment when you finish singing a beautiful piece of music, and there is a brief moment of silence before the audience erupts into cheers and applause.

9. Your choir director

Your choir director is your teacher, mentor, and friend. Making your director proud is one of the greatest accomplishments you can achieve as a choir, and you know that they will stand by you through your successes and failures.

10. You gain a family for life

Whether it's your choir or the vast network of choir nerds, you'll always have someone to relive those memories with.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
