It seems that recently many people have been stuck with more than their fair share of gloomy weather. While some say "April Showers bring May flowers" it seems that this year those showers are lasting a little longer than most of us have hoped. Rainy days may seem like the worst sometimes but here are ten activities (ranging from complete laziness to daringly productive) that you can do when those spring showers are pouring down.

1. Movie/ TV Show Marathon

There are some rainy days where all you want to do is curl up on the couch and enjoy some of your favorite shows. If today is one of those days, go for it. Pop that popcorn, put on those comfy sweats and get lazy!

2. Jump in some puddles!

If you're feeling bogged down by days of rain, why not go out and enjoy one of the exciting activities of childhood? As a kid even rain could be fun and there's no reason that adult life has to be any different. Grab those boots and go make a splash.

3. Read a book

If it seems that you've already exhausted your Netflix library why not kick it old school with one of your favorite reads? Re-read a classic or try something new, either way paired with a warm blanket and a cup of tea this is a perfect rainy day activity.

4. Cross something off your to-do list

Have things you need to do piling up? Take some time out of your rainy day to get some things in order. Even if you just complete a few small chores it'll help you feel productive and save you some free time for the next sunny day.

5. Do some crafts

Thinking about taking up a new craft but haven't had the time? Use a rainy day to learn how to do something new. Whether it's crocheting or just simply coloring, get those creative juices flowing.

6. Go out...but do something indoors

If you're sick of rainy days in the good news is there are ways to go out without necessarily being...out. Grab a few friends and check out what indoor activities are available near you. From bowling to indoor mini-golf there is definitely something for everyone.

7. Go on a shopping spree

The best thing about shopping in today's day in age is that it can even be done from the comfort of your own home. Head out to your favorite mall or store but if you're not feeling that, simply check out some of your favorite shopping websites.

8. Do some cleaning or organizing

Although it's not particularly fun, cleaning on a dreary rainy day is definitely better than being forced to stay in and clean while everyone else is out basking in the sun. Take advantage of this down time to tackle those chores that have been piling up.

9. Bake or cook

Have a new recipe you're dying to try out? Whether you're an expert chef or you struggle to make microwave mac and cheese a rainy day can be the perfect opportunity to experiment in the kitchen.

10. Build a fort

Perfect for snuggling on a rainy day, forts are a fun way to relive the fun of your childhood. Grab some blankets, stuffed animals, pillows and get cozy!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
