In 2013, it was “Blurred Lines” by Robin Thicke featuring T.I. and Pharrell. In 2014, Iggy Azalea and Charli XCX had “Fancy.” And just last year, Omi ruled the season with “Cheerleader.” Obviously I'm talking about the Song of The Summer, an honor given to the summeriest and catchiest pop songs of the year. Even though it's only May, here are some tunes that give off major Song of Summer 2016 vibes:
1. "Never Forget You" by Zara Larson feat MNEK
This is my all time favorite song. I'll play it in my car, my room, in the shower. Zara's vocals mixed in with MNEK gives me ultimate chills and I can'e help but to sing alone.
2. “Work From Home” By Fifth Harmony Featuring Ty Dolla $ign
When you have a song this hot, who needs a barbecue?
3. “Work” By Rihanna Featuring Drake
Ruled as the Billboard Hot 100, it wouldn't surprise me if it remained in the Hot 100, "Work" is that good.
4. "One Dance" by Drake feat. Wizkid and Kyla
Who doesn't sway their hips and immediately dance when they hear this song?
5. "Cheap Thrills" by Sia
Sia released this dancy pop jam in winter but this summer it will be one of the best songs to be played at whatever barbeque.
6.“Be Alright” By Ariana Grande
Another hit from Ari G.? How fortunate are we!
7. “Boys & Girls” By will.i.am Featuring Pia Mia
This will be all over the radio this summer. Everyone will want to hear it in the car, the mall. It up there with how I feel about "Never Forgot You".
8. "Girls Like" By Tinie Tempah Featuring Zara Larsson
Anyone who isn't into "Girls Like"? Please exit stage left.
9. "Wild" by Troye Sivan
I love Troye Sivan. Any song he drops I swear I press the "buy" button as fast as humanly possible.
10. "Youth" by Troye Sivan
It's Troye Sivan! Need I say more?
