Being the oldest child comes with its fair share of perks and differences. Myself, the oldest child of 5, have come to realize just how lucky I am to be the first born for a large number of reasons. Here are 10 perks of being the oldest child:

1. You Got To Be A Trial Baby For Your Parents And Pave The Way For Your Future Siblings.

You set the expectations, got to try new things, and probably got away with more than you should have! But after all, your parents didn't know any better-- YET!!

2. You're The Only Kid In The Family That Got To Experience Being An Only Child

For some portion of your life, you were the only kid in the family. You had your parent's undivided attention, money, and love.

3. You Get Dibs On Everything!

Doesn't matter what it is, If you want it it's yours. Firstborn rights.

4. You Get To Save Your Siblings From Your Past Mistakes

You help guide them, and take pride in knowing they will follow (some) of your advice!

5. Fighting Your Siblings Was The Main Source Of Your Entertainment Growing Up

I have no shame in my older sibling games.

6. You Get To Participate In Kid Holidays And Events Forever

My Youngest Sibling is 4 Months, so catch me Trick or Treating, playing at the park, and eating happy meals until I'm 35 (literally).

7. You Get To Blame Things On The Younger Kids, And Most Likely You Got Away With It Because You're Older

Every oldest child is guilty of this one.

8. You Had First Hand Babysitting Experience

I could feed, burp, and change a baby before I could read.

9. You Realize You Can Convince Your Siblings To Do Anything

You love them to death, but there oh so gullible.

10. You Get To Have Built In Friends

There always there to make fun of distant relatives at family reunions with you.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
