10 People You Have In Every Class

was recently reflecting on the many different types of people and personalities that can be seen during class, and I thought I would share with you some of the people I encounter in my classes.

1. The know it all

These people are the ones who think they know absolutely everything that there is and always have something to share.

2. The sleeper

We've all had those days where we didn't get enough sleep and we accidentally fall asleep in class for a bit, that's fine. I'm talking about those people who ALWAYS fall asleep in class. Get some coffee!

3. The perpetual head-nodder

This person agrees with everything the professor has to say.

4. The back row talker

This is the person who has no interest in the class what so ever, so they talk the entire class period and you can hear every annoying thing they have to say.

5. The one(s) who never pay attention

These people are the absolute worst. These are the people who show up to class and need you to recap the entire semester before class starts. They really grind my gears. Pay attention people, you're paying to be here.

6. The group work freeloader

This person absolutely sucks.

7. The one who is always late

This person always makes a scene when they show up late. They are ALWAYS as loud as possible when entering and everyone knows their name because they always miss roll call.

8. The manic note taker

This person feels that everything the professor says and everything that is in the book is important, so they write absolutely everything down.

9. The one who always brings food to class

Okay, so I understand that people need to eat, and sometimes you have to bring food to class. That's perfectly fine, but IF YOU ARE GOING TO EAT SOMETHING CRUNCHY RIGHT NEXT TO MY FACE, PLEASE LEAVE.

10. The quiet one

This is the person you end up being best friends with because you hate everyone else together.

Although there are many different types of people you will have in your classes and you might not like them all, they still make the college experience totally worth it.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
