October, the time of year where the entire month is almost considered a holiday in itself.Halloween is one of the most loved day's of the year with being able to dress up, free candy and wander the streets with your friends and not be considered hooligans. One thing special to this month, inspired by Halloween itself is Haunted Houses. So many places around the US have Spook houses set up on the weekends in October and even some all week. Here are just a few from Oklahoma.
1. Castle of Muskogee
The castle hold many events on their grounds each year, one of which is the Halloween Festival open every weekend in October. Admission to the festival is free, but each attraction has different prices. Parking is free aside from $5 VIP parking. There are many different attractions to visit such as the Trail Of Blood, Torture Chamber, and the Haunted Hayride. There are three packages available for purchase that include different attractions: Fright Combo $30, Child Fun Pack $15, and Adult Fun Pack $25.
2. 13th ward
The 13th Ward is a haunted attraction located off of Kenosha in Broken Arrow. General Admission costs $15 and the Fast Pass costs $25, the attraction is open every weekend in October, the 13th Ward Store is opened all week. Children must be 12 or older to attend.
3. Psycho Path
Located just outside Sperry, Psycho Path has a few different attractions to attend. Tickets can be purchased individually at varying prices or The Adult Combo at $30 or Adult Zombo at $45. The Adult Combo gives the guest access to any two attractions, while The Adult Zombie gives the guest access to all attractions. Children under twelve are only admitted to the Dark Ride or the Shadow Box, tickets must be purchased at the Box Office. Psycho Path is open all weekend in October, with the exception of a few Thursdays.
4. The Hex House
The Hex House recently relocated to a location off of highway 44 with their sister attraction Westside Grim. General Admission costs $25 and the Fast Past costs $30, children under the age of 13 are not recommended to attend. The Haunted Attraction is open all weekend in October.
5. Nightmare
Located at GUTS Church off of highway 64, this biblically based spook house covers real world struggles without Jesus Christ. The attraction takes you through several different rooms set up differently. General Admission for the attraction is $15 and the Express Pass costs $25. Children must be 12 years old to enter the tour. Nightmare is open every Friday and Saturday in October.
6. Asylum
Asylum is an interactive haunted attraction located in Nowata, based on a 1940's sanatarium. General Admission tickets cost $25 and Fast Pass tickets cost $35, Asylum is open every weekend in October.
7. Thunderbird Trail of Fear Scream Park
Located in the backwoods of Noble, Trail of Fear Scream Park has two haunted attractions and several stores. Each attraction individually cost $15 while the All Pass Ticket covers both attractions as well as the Magic Guild Show. They offer another pass,The Scream Pass Ticket at $35 which gives the guest access to all attractions and upgrade their ticket to a fast pass. The Trail of Fear Scream Park is opened all weekends in October.
8. Trail of Terror
Out of El Reno, Oklahoma the Trail of Terror's theme for 2016 is the Haunted Barn with the appearance of the Headless Horseman each night. The attraction is open the last two Fridays and Saturdays of October with tickets selling at 10$ each.
9. The Sanctuary Haunted Attraction
Near Frontier City in Oklahoma City The Sanctuary Haunted Attraction is opened every weekend in October. Children under the age of 13 are not recommended to attend the attraction but it is not enforced. The General Admission for the attraction is $20 and the Fast Pass is $35.
10. Nightmare in the Country
In the panhandle of Oklahoma, right out of Woodward, is Nightmare in the Country Scream Park. Each of the six attractions are $7 each or $10 each for a Fast Pass. You can purchase a $30 pass that allows you to visit each of the Attractions. Nightmare in the Country Scream Park is open every Friday and Saturday in October.
