As everyone knows, the election was crazy. Whether you're with Clinton or Trump, you had something to say and most likely, still have something to say. All of our social media accounts are flooded with memes, videos, and insane political posts. Some of us (me) don’t even want to go back on Facebook for a while.
With all the hype around the election, a lot of people have differing opinions. Some people don’t even want to talk about it because they fear getting attacked. Others fear for their lives. With riots going on and tensions on the rise, Michiganders react to the election in many ways.

“I don’t think I have to tell anyone who I voted for regardless. Ranting on social media doesn’t get you very far. My opinion was spoken during voting and that’s that. We obviously can’t settle on one thing and our country is more divided than ever. I think the more we try to bring down Trump, the more we bring down the country. We have to remember that we are one, no matter what.”
2. Holly Athena Stebbin:
“Election was BS. Trump is not qualified. We elected a guy that weaved and united people with hate and fear. Clinton nor Trump are qualified. They are both crooks in different ways. Hillary stole votes from Bernie... but Trump stole votes from Hillary. It's based on criminal actions. I am worried for this country because we might have some of our human rights removed in the near future because we are all divided.”
3. Iyana Ballestero:
“Am I happy with the outcome? No. But he is and will be our 45th President regardless of how I feel, so I hope he succeeds as a president because his failure is my failure .”
4. Stephanie Meade:
“Does, well can't go on Facebook for a week count?”

“I feel that it was a very close election and tensions that had been building up leading to it have snapped after the results came in. On both sides there are radicals that do NOT represent America as a whole, their candidates, or their ideals at all. I hope that people will settle down soon and see reason again in order to be able to come together and help the president-elect make America both loving and great in every sense of the words. “
6. Johnny Case:
“I couldn’t care less about it.”
7. Travis Knoll:
“You already know…”

“Despite what your opinion is, the people of the US and its leaders have spoken and named Donald Trump the president-elect. Frankly, all of the disgusting acts in protests in the name of “love” and “freedom” are only serving to segregate the American people even further. Most people do not know Trump at all and blindly refuse to acknowledge the good in him when they protest that all people are good no matter race, religion, beliefs, etc. This hypocrisy from the fact that your candidate didn’t win is just childish and people should be focused on doing their part to try and make America a better place for everyone instead of their own selfish ideas of ‘good’.”
9. Blake Kai Myers:
“We've learned throughout this year to never underestimate anti-establishment candidates. The media said that Bernie Sanders had no chance, instead he made up a 60 pt lead with zero name recognition against one of the most well known politicians of our time. Every pundit said that Hillary Clinton would win the general election, and much like during the primary, they were wrong to underestimate anti-establishment candidates. I think that a Donald Trump presidency is the unfortunate consequence of the DNC's corruption. The silver lining to this is the hope that in 4 years, the DNC will run a REAL progressive candidate who does not take money from Wall Street or billionaires.”
10. Tyler Griswold:
“My reaction to the election as a whole was indifference and disgust. As for my reaction to the final results, I was very surprised with the outcome.”
