10 K-Pop Songs Everyone Can Enjoy

Stop and give Kpop a chance.

Music is a Universal Language. As a newbie listener to Korean pop music, I always believed that music brought people together. Kpop has introduced me to some of my best friends and to a new culture of music. I have compiled this list for those who may be unfamiliar with the world of Korean music. You'd be surprised by how many similarities than differences there are between Korean and American music.

10. "I Got a Boy" by Girl's Generation

I’m a girl who like her music, but I advocate that lyrics aren’t the most important thing. "I Got A Boy" breaks that for me, the lyrics and the choreography go hand in hand to tell a story.

9. "Fire" by BTS

Everyone's on point here, with Rap Monster and J-Hope on the raps, Jungkook and V on the chorus, and the rest of the boys, as well. It's got a great hook, too: "Burn it all up -- bow wow wow."

8. "Boom Boom" by Seventeen

The whole thing kind of has a boyish charm to it. It's fun and upbeat, and what it's missing it makes up for in cuteness.

7. "Blood Sweat & Tears" by BTS

A pure boy band, love-obsessed track. With sweet confessions such as, "Even my blood, sweat and tears, Even my body, heart and soul, I know that it's all yours" and " Baby, I don't care if I get drunk, I'll drink you in now, Your whiskey, deep into my throat" is the poison of today's female youth.

6. "Dr Pepper" by CL ft.Diplo

It’s a heavily synthesized piece of hip-hop that we have come to expect from everything Diplo works on. Musically, it doesn’t deviate from its stabbing electro riff for the most part.

5. "Come Back Home" by 2NE1

It is really a mix of musical influences for “Come Back Home” but the most predominant genres I could hear are elements derived from pop, reggae, and even hip-hop. With so much diverse and contrasting musical styles in this track, it sure doesn’t sound like your generic K-POP song!

4. "Boombayah" by Blackpink

As part of BLACKPINK’s double title track debut, Boombayah acts as their more uptempo party offering.

3. "Whistle" by Blackpink

I love the beat, I love the whistle…it sucks that I can’t whistle worth a damn.

2. "I'm the Best" by 2NE1

"I Am The Best" encompasses everything 2NE1 sets out to serve: fierce verses, monstrous hooks, and a beat so high-energy that it could survive in the busiest clubs without a trace of vocal add-ons.

1. "Lifted" by CL

This is the song that made me fall in love with CL and 2NE1, along with Kpop. Although it's in English, It's just a fun and upbeat song everyone can dance too.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
