Jake Miller, an up and coming artist from South Florida, somehow managed to win me over with his AMAZING music! Starting off with less than 100 people at his shows to selling out every show, one could say that he is an inspiration. Actually starting from the bottom and building a fan base by himself is pretty amazing. Along with Jake he has his drummer, Kevin Smart and his DJ Joey Gandolfo with him on stage. Not on stage he has his tour manager, Scooter. Listening to his music and seeing the friendships he has made with his team makes me truly happy to be a fan. Although Jake has many songs there are ten (not in any particular order) that you defiantly need to hear!
1. "A Million Lives"
The music video for this song came out in 2013, which was also when I first heard of him. When first hearing the song I was confused to where the song was going. After listening a couple times I realized that it was about lives that his songs have changed and how we as fans changed his life.
2. "Steven"
Another 2013 song, explaining the life of a boy who has had many struggles. This song really showed me what people actually go through at home and at school. I believe that this song should be heard everywhere to show family's, bully's, and people that just don't understand what is happening to people around them.
3. "Dead and Gone"
Released in 2013 "Dead and Gone" was a song that i could connect to. With one lyric I understood how fast life really goes by and every thing that can happen in our lives. The lyric "All those numbers on your tombstone those don't mean a thing. What really matters most are those dashes in between" really had an effect on me making me realize that I need to do more than just watching TV and checking my phone every 10 seconds.
4. "Sunshine"
The video for this song shows present and past videos about a friend of Jake's. This song always has me feeling a way that I hate feeling, but I love the song. This song reminds me of my friend that I lost, who had a major impact on my life. This song is a MUST listen to. If you don't listen to any others on this list at least listen to this one.
5. "First Flight Home"
This song from 2014 is extremely catchy and has a nice beat to it. With different tempos and very nice vocals it keeps you involved throughout the entire song.
6. "Ghost"
A song that so many people can connect to on so many levels. Stating that you aren't alone and that there are so many people feeling the way that you are feeling.
7. "Rumors"
A more up beat and newer song by Jake. Released in 2015, is extremely catch and makes you want to dance. Breaking from the songs that are a little sad, this song puts a smile on my face and makes me happy.
8. "Collide"
This song immediately caught my eye and I couldn't stop listening. Being the number one song played on my playlist for the longest time, until "Sunshine" hopped into first place. Listening to this song makes me wonder if this is all that you feel when you meet someone that you instantly connect with.
9. "Lion Heart"
This song gives me an idea of how Jake Miller feels about his girlfriend, not sure if that's true or not. When listening to this song I want to jump around and sing at the top of my lungs (with the song of course, I'm not good at singing).
10. "Selfish Girls"
Last but not least, "Selfish Girls". This song came out in 2015 and took over my playlist! It is so catchy! In the official music video videos from fans were pieced together which truly shows how much Jake Miller loves his fans! Having them involved in the music video was a BRILLIANT idea.
