10 Honest Phrases We Need To Say More Often

“Thank you for being strong on my behalf”

Because there is so many times that we cannot stay strong for ourselves. We feel like we have hit rock bottom and feel broken. It is then when we need those people in our lives that put forth the effort to hold us up and who give us a shoulder to lean on. Acknowledging when someone puts for such efforts never hurts.

“I’m sorry and I’ve learnt from my mistake”

There are so many times that we insincerely apologize to someone just to move on from the situation at hand. Doing something like this is simple and anyone can do it. However, not everyone can acknowledge what he or she did wrong. Sincerely apologizing and letting the other person know that we have every intention to change our mistake can lead to much better future relationships.

“I forgive me”

Forgiveness is key. This saying kind of goes hand in hand with the saying, “in order to respect others you must first learn to respect yourself”. Just like we often forgive others, we must also learn to let go of whatever we did wrong and forgive ourselves. Think it, say it, even sing it if you want to. But do it – forgive yourself.

“Knowing you has changed my life”

There are billions of people in this world, but yet there are those select few who entered your life and changed it for the better. It’s one thing to let someone know that you enjoy spending time with them, but it’s an entirely different thing to let someone know how their existence has brought about positive changes in your life.

“I’m not worried about you”

Hearing these words can give someone an incredible boost of confidence. It is nice to know that others see and acknowledge your capabilities as much as you do. And when these words come from someone who maybe isn’t your mom your best friend, that’s when their confidence in you inspires you to have that same confidence in yourself.

“It doesn’t matter who was right”

For some reason, more often than necessary, we get stuck in this silly competition of “you’re wrong, I’m right”. And there seems to always be this crazy need for someone to win. However sometimes you just need to understand that some disagreements just can’t be settled but that it’s okay because it really doesn’t matter who is right. A relationship with someone is more important than winning a competition.

“I don’t know”

It is normal to feel like we must always have the answer. When we don’t we feel like we’ve let someone down. But sometimes it’s okay to admit that we don’t know the answer. There is not a single person that knows the answer to every single possible question. Making up an answer or pretending we you have the answer when you really don’t is silly.

“Hey, it’s been too long”

If you are still thinking about that person after all of this time has passed then you should put aside the fear that you’ve waited to long because when it comes to those you love, it is never too late. Sometimes you just have to be the brave one to speak up first.

“You’re awesome”

This one is pretty straightforward. We don’t go around handing out compliments left and right, but we should. We all know how great it is to receive compliments. They make everyone feel good and happy and why wouldn’t you want to make someone’s day?

“You inspire me”

There are so many incredible people in this world. Each with their own unique talents. Telling someone they inspire you could be one of the best compliments out there. Letting someone know they inspire you is a great reminder for why it is so great that that person is in this world and why they should keep doing what they’re doing.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
