10 Guilty Pleasures I Won't Apologize For Indulging In

There's no shame here!

10 Guilty Pleasures I Won't Apologize For Indulging In

For the most part, guilty pleasures are things we don't think we can share because it's not "socially acceptable," but I'm here to say that you don't always have to be ashamed of the things you do in private. You don't necessarily have to shout them from the rooftop but it's good to know other people indulge in odd things, too. It's time to put the shame to rest!

Reality TV

Watching reality tv shows will never get old. My life currently revolves around trying to make it through the end of this semester so it's fun to jump into other peoples lives for a few hours... Also, I've been keeping up with the Kardashians for 15 seasons now so I'm too invested to stop at this point.

Celebrity gossip

Who cares how Justin Bieber eats a sandwich or when Kylie Jenner will finish her calendar? The answer is ME! OK, I know reading too far into celebrity news is bad but we all do it (and enjoy it.)

Twitter

Honestly, I don't make a lot of my own tweets but I love reading what other people post. Every time I open the app it never fails me! Whether it be a funny video, a meme, pop culture or even politics, I am always entertained.

Creeping on social media

This sounds crazy but we have ALL been there. I know I've had my moments of weakness, caved and ended up looking at something I ultimately didn't want to see. Then there are the times when you get sucked into the explore page and end up on some random account 30 minutes later... It happens sometimes!

Beautifying

This can be anything from getting my nails and hair done all the way to picking at my face. I love to feel girly and be pampered (you know you have a problem when you spend your last $20 on getting your nails painted.) There is something so satisfying about squeezing the blemishes on your face, tanning, waxing, tweezing your eyebrows and the way your legs feel after a fresh shave.

Taking quizzes on Buzzfeed

These are pure nonsense and I love it. The quizzes are all so random but somehow kind of relatable! I mean, of course I want to know what type of cheese I am... I can't think of anything better to do at 3 a.m. on a Tuesday.

Childhood throwbacks

I'm a firm believer that the tv shows and movies I grew up watching are way better than what this generation watches today. Sitting back, watching episodes of "Drake and Josh" is something I do pretty often and I'm not opposed to watching "The Hannah Montana Movie" every once in a while. And I know I'm not the only one who loves a good throwback jam, too!

Taking bubblebaths

I could sit in a hot bubble bath for hours. This is my relaxation time and anyone who knows me knows this. There are people who love to hate on baths because "you sit in your own filth" and I would just love to say this is false! Let me be happy, geez.

Ordering things online

What can I say, this girl loves to shop! Sad, happy, bored, you name it. I just love the whole process of online shopping! There is truly no other feeling like coming home to a package on your doorstep.

Eating junk food

No girl can deny her love for junk food and it's not like I eat bad all the time but once I get that craving... It's over with. Ironically, I find myself wanting cheese fries at this very moment.

Moral of the story: be yourself and have some pride, even if you are a little weird sometimes!

Being Invisible The Best Super Power

The best superpower ever? Being invisible of course. Imagine just being able to go from seen to unseen on a dime. Who wouldn't want to have the opportunity to be invisible? Superman and Batman have nothing on being invisible with their superhero abilities. Here are some things that you could do while being invisible, because being invisible can benefit your social life too.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
