10 Great Things About Having A Boyfriend That's Also Your Best Friend

I can honestly say that my boyfriend is my best friend. From all of the good times we have shared together, we constantly support each other in more than just a romantic way. Having a boyfriend who happens to also be my best friend has only made my relationship stronger, and here are just a few of the reasons why I love us so much.

1. You Two Do Everything Together

LIKE LITERALLY EVERYTHING. AND YOU DON’T GET SICK OF EACH OTHER. WHICH IS RARE AND AMAZING.

2. Fun Day Trips Turn Into Dates

I can’t tell you how great it is that just a quick adventure into New York City can go from a random trip by day to a romantic date by night.

3. You Truly Know Each Other

Half of the time I just look at my boyfriend and he nods because he knew exactly what I was going to say. You both know each other’s good and bad sides, which helps avoid conflicts over stupid little things.

4. You Are So Comfortable Around Each Other

You know you found the one when you can truly be yourself around someone. No matter how annoying or crazy you may be, they still think you’re the best thing that’s ever happened to them.

5. You Can Tell Them Anything

You really know if your boyfriend is your best friend if you can rant about anything with him and he listens wholeheartedly and even gives you advice on how to deal with the problem. It’s like someone to talk to but then someone who hugs you and takes you to get ice cream because he knows your upset and wants to make you happy again.

6. You Have Lots Of Mutual Friends

My boyfriend and I share a lot of mutual friends, which is great because we always have a huge group to hang out with that’s genuinely friends with both of us.

7. You Don’t Have Huge Fights

Sure, we argue about where to go for dinner or what we want to do for the night, but we never have huge arguments because of the close bond we share. We just don’t see a reason to have a huge screaming match and hurt each others feelings because we don’t have any major serious issues between us. (Refer to #4 and #5)

8. You Take The Cutest Pictures

Your Snapchat story is always the definition of #relationshipgoals

9. He Always Knows How To Make You Smile

Like I mentioned before, you two really know each other, which means you both know when one of you is happy, sad, or mad. No matter how you’re feeling, you both know how to make each other smile and feel better again. It really makes you love someone more when they always know how to put a smile on your face, even on your worst days.

10. Everyone Ships You Two

Every single Instagram picture comes along with 10 or more comments about how you two are just “too cute” and “such goals”. (Which you both know is true, of course)

So, shout out to my boyfriend for being my best friend. I love you, and I really love us.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
