The school year is getting close to an end, and I could write an entire article about how weird that is, but today we registered for our rooms next year, so I'm thinking about my lovely future roommates. Here are 10 things I want you girls to know before we are finally roomies.
1. I AM SO EXCITED.
I can't believe how lucky I am to have such amazing women to live with next year. I am so ready to grow closer, make memories, laugh together, cry together, and have sleepovers every night.
2. I am always up for movie nights.
Free Friday night? Let's please grab some junk food and watch movies till we can't keep our eyes open. We can blow off responsibilities, right?
3. I promise to share any desserts I make.
Any cookies or brownies that I make are community cookies or brownies. It would just be plain wrong to say otherwise...
4. Please make me work out.
Speaking of desserts... Please make me go to the gym. Everyone needs a gym buddy, so we can go together and encourage each other!
5. I promise to be as clean as possible.
I'm not perfect, but I will try to keep everything neat, because let's face it, college life is crazy enough without living in a disaster zone. Especially in the common areas, I will make sure I don't have my stuff all over the place. Don't be afraid to call me out if my dishes have been in the sink for a week and you really really want them gone. I will totally understand.
6. I will bring you coffee whenever you need it.
I mean... coffee is important. I know some mornings I need it but don't have time. Roommates can fix that! I'll be here!
7. Sorry I will probably not be much homework help...
We're all studying different things, so we may not be able to help each other much... I will be there to listen to you complain and then complain about my own work to you though. We can just cry over school together all the time and we'll be fine.
8. Don’t let me be too busy for you.
Like I said, we all have different focuses and goals here at school, but I want to make time for you all. Even if I'm having a crazy week, month, semester, or year, don't let me forget to hang out with you guys whenever I can.
9. I promise to be there for you no matter what.
If it's 2 a.m. and you're frustrated with a teacher, a friend, a boy, or whatever else might bother you, call me into your room and I will listen. If you get exciting news, I want to know right away! I am so excited to see how the next year goes for all of us, and I am so ready to be there for all of you no matter what happens.
10. Even if things don't work perfectly, even if there are conflicts, I love you guys.
I don't know how the next year is going to work out. Maybe we won't work. Maybe I'll end up getting really irritated constantly, and maybe I'll irritate you guys constantly. Maybe we won't even end up rooming together again next year. Whatever happens though, I really do love you all, and I promise that is one thing that isn't going to change.
Here's to next year, to all our future memories, and wonderful friends. I love you guys!
