Below is a list of fictional characters from novels, television series and movies who are not only handsome and smart, but possess all perfect boyfriend qualities. I would gladly date any of these beauties, but until that day comes -- which it eventually will -- my love life is ruined.    

1. Chuck Bass. This wealthy businessman is not only #1 for his defined features and his luxurious lifestyle on the Upper East Side, but for his protective nature over his girlfriend, Blair Waldorf. Chuck shows undeniable love towards her and shows he would do anything to help and support her. He voted for Blair 150 times for Prom Queen, saved her failing fashion show and in the midst of a romantic gesture, he waited hours for her on top of the Empire State Building. What could be better than hearing Chuck Bass tell you, “One word. Eight letters. Say it and I’m yours"?

2. Stephan and Damon Salvatore. 

Who could forget those fast, brave, and blood-sucking vampires? Taking #2 are two brothers because there is no way that one can pick between them. It's like trying to pick your favorite Netflix show. It would just be WRONG. I mean, what’s better than dating someone who would kill anyone but you? These vampire brothers have anything a girl could desire. From their abnormal good looks, muscular bodies and exciting personalities, who could want more? Let’s not forget that these two would do anything for their girl, Elena Gilbert, as they do on the “The Vampire Dairies”. They put Elena before themselves in all situations, despite the risk of their own lives. In the past, they have fought Originals, Vampire Hunters and a town full of Travelers for her. Who wouldn’t want to date these vamp hotties? I mean, even a little mind compulsion from them seems sexy.

3. Edward Cullen 

Let’s not forget the original vamp. This mysterious vampire is the godfather of vampire boyfs. He not only glistens in the sun, quotes Shakespeare and runs as fast as lightning, but he is the perfect boyfriend and protector of Bella Swan in the “Twilight" saga. He accepts Bella for the quirky girl that she is, and I cannot help but add a romantic sigh over the way he fully opens himself up to her. We watched and read in awe as he fought James, werewolves and the Volturi for Bella’s safety, but what could be better than having Edward fight for your heart?

    

4. Augustus Waters. Next is America’s favorite sweetheart and tear-jerking romantic. I am not sure that I can correctly explain why Augustus ruins all future relationships for me without shedding a few tears. He is the definition of PERFECTION in every way possible. Not only does he look like an Abercrombie model, and have a heart-melting grin, but he has an infectious personality that can light up any room. His desire to be remembered and make a difference in the world is too sexy. His love and care for Hazel is something that all girls hope to have one day. He waited for her in the hospital waiting room, took her to Amsterdam and showed her what life and love together feels like. *Spoiler alert* Let’s admit that every girl cried when she found out that Augustus was sick, and perhaps his eulogy for Hazel was the saddest thing ever written. Augustus Waters lived a good life and he taught girls everywhere that “the world is not a wish-granting factory”, “pain demands to be felt”, and most of all, he showed us the reality of true love. Okay? Okay.   

5. JackDawson. Next is the all-time classic gentleman. Titanic is the most epic love story of all time because of Jack Dawson. He was a down-to-earth person who was able to show Rose what it meant to have fun and enjoy life. He not only taught her how to spit like a boy, but he protected her every minute of the Titanic’s epic demise. The most heartbreaking of it all, and perhaps the biggest sacrifice ever, was when he chose to stay in the water and die so that Rose could survive and live on to have a full life. Jack is the definition of a boyfriend any person would be lucky to call their own.

6. Noah Calhoun. Holding the highest standards of them all is Noah. This heartthrob swooped Allie off her feet and showed her what it meant to be young and in love. His unwavering affection for her made every girl his number one fan. Noah puts all real life relationships to shame because girls everywhere can compare their man to Noah. When this happens, you might hear a girl say, “Noah built Allie her dream home in hopes of getting her back, and you can’t even take out the garbage?” or “Noah wrote Allie 365 letters and you can’t even text me back? See what I mean? No comparison. #sorrynotsorry     

 

7. Nathan Scott. For all those One Tree Hill lovers, we have Nathan Scott. He is an all-star basketball player, high-school royalty and even his biceps deserve an award. This former bad boy turned sweet and kind after he met his high school girlfriend and later wife, Hailey James. Although Naley had many ups and downs as a teenaged couple, we can all admit that Nathan is, in general, the perfect husband and father. He ran into their locked-down high school in order to save Hailey, he put his basketball career aside in order to raise their son Jamie and he even spent an entire day with his enemy in order to help Hailey’s music career. Aww! Nathan has some flaws, which makes girls hopeful that their prince charming is still obtainable.

  

8. Cory Matthews. Coming in at number eight is a '90s babe who had everyone talking. We grew up with Cory and his childhood-crush-turned-wife, Topanga Lawrence. Cory and Topanga were like two peas in a pod. Cory would do anything to make his girl happy, and we were shown, time and time again, how much he loved her. His goofy personality and his undeniable style made us all fall in love. So much so that there is no shame in watching the spin-off Girl Meets World just to fall in love with the adult Cory once again.   

9. Derek Sheperd. Doctor, doctor, help me, I'm sick. This neurosurgeon has us falling head over heels in the O.R. anytime he picks up the scalpel. His witty humor, gifted talent and gentlemanly persona have us all wishing we were Meredith Grey. Plus, who wouldn’t want to wake up to a man this attractive? This leaves us with one question --where can we find our own McDreamy?

10. Jim Halpert. Last, but not at all least, is Jim Halpert. This mild-mannered guy from The Office has us all swooning as we follow his love for Pam Beesly throughout the series. He is the definition of a perfect guy, who always supports Pam, no matter the circumstances. He brings witty humor to the show and is always making Pam and the others laugh. He watches out for his girl and is always quick to remind her of his love. We cannot help but be jealous of Pam, because we all secretly want Jim to ourselves.
