I absolutely love the Fall. I enjoy pumpkin picking, apple picking, hayrides, haunted houses, and of course cooler weather. The Fall season also seems to bring out an overwhelming amount of couples, and for all us single people we don’t really like being asked to take their photo while they hold cute pumpkins with their cute outfits and cute poses. Like no, gross. But why let all of the relationships in the world ruin the fun for us single people? Here are 10 date ideas for all my single friends!
1. Self Wine and Dine!
The beauty of being single is that you don’t have to agree with anyone on food. Find a recipe you know you’ll enjoy and open a bottle of your favorite wine! You can eat as slow or fast as you’d like, drink the entire bottle cause who cares, and you’ll get the whole bed to yourself at the end of the night which is way better because sharing a bed leads to unwanted cuddling and weird sleeping positions.
2. Shopping
While being spoiled by a significant other can be enjoyable, you don’t always get what you want. Have you ever seen the video of the young boy opening up a wrapped Avocado and pretending he likes it? Yeah we all hate that, therefore, going on a personal shopping trip will get you everything you want and avoids the awkward “an avocado…thannnnks” moments.
3. Pumpkin Picking
There is no reason why such a traditional Fall activity should be frowned upon all because you are single! Pick 1, or maybe 10, pumpkins, bring them all home, carve them, and cook the pumpkin seeds later to have all to yourself. I bet my pumpkin is cuter than your boyfriend anyways!
4. An Indoor Date
Do you ever want to put on that t-shirt with that pizza stain that never came out and your baggiest sweatpants? Yeah me too. Do you also ever want to order everything off the Chinese restaurant’s menu? Yeah me too. The beauty of being single is you can do all of this whenever you want! You also don’t need to have that awkward “who wants the last egg roll” moment, because guess what? It’s all yours!
5. Coffee Shop
I admire people at coffee shops. They are so sophisticated, or at least that’s what they seem like and there is no reason we can’t do the same! Grab a book or open your laptop, put on a cute outfit, and look studious.
6. Sight See
Trying to make plans with someone is complicated. You need to find a day you both have off from work or school, or wait two weeks to put in for a day off. When you are riding solo you don’t need to worry about anyone’s schedule but your own! Have a Tuesday off? Ok drive to that bakery an hour away and eat a cupcake while watching the sunset and staring at all the dogs that walk by, whatever makes you happy.
7. Go To the Movies
This may be one of those “wow I am so lonely and single” moments but trust me it isn’t. Being single and going to the movies is so easy. Sure people may judge you or compare you to a lonely stray puppy, but jokes on them because you don’t need to share anything. The popcorn, candy, soda is all yours. You also don’t need to worry about someone talking to you or randomly kissing you during the good scenes of the movie. You won’t miss a thing!
8. Spa Day
Treat yo’ self! Dye your hair, get a massage, and sit there with cucumbers on your eyes while bathing in mud! Your body will thank you, and lets face it massages from significant others aren’t that satisfying all the time.
9. Be with Friends
The greatest thing about being single is the only person’s schedule you need to worry about it yours. This leaves so much time for friends and laughing at idiotic moments. Your time with your friends will always be memorable.
10. Go to a Sporting Event
I can’t stand going to football games with a date. It is so much work. You both need to meet up and tailgate, agree on a time to actually enter the game, find somewhere to sit, agree when you both want to leave, and if you are really lucky you also get the honor of dragging their drunk butt home. If you are single, you can literally enter and leave whenever you want, and the only drunk butt you need to worry about getting home is your own!
