Growing up with an identical twin sister was just like having any other sister, except she happened to look just like me and have the same birthday. The best part about this was always having a friend that had to be my friend. The questions we used to be asked and are still asked from time to time are unbelievable! People seem to think that twins have magic powers, or that we are not humans, but some other creature. This is not the case. Here are the top 10 most common questions my sister and I are asked far too often.
1. Do you ever wake up in the morning and think you're your twin?
Absolutely not.
2. Do you ever switch classes or trick your parents?
The only time this would happen would be if a non-twin friend told us to; it isn't that fun! Parents can also usually tell their kids apart...
3. What does it feel like to be a twin?
A twin has never experienced not being a twin, therefore it feels normal.
4. Do you have a secret language?
Not unless we made one up and discussed it first.
5. Can you read each other's minds?
No. We aren't supernatural.
6. If I punch your twin will you feel her pain?
No.
7. Who is the nice twin and who is the mean one?
It depends on the day!
8. Are you going to date or marry a set of identical twin boys?
I sure hope not. But fun fact, if that happened and the twins had kids together they would be siblings by DNA.
9. Is your twin your best friend?
Duh! We have literally walked through life together.
10. Are you two related or something?
When asked this, we usually answer saying no, just because it is an obvious yes.
