1. When someone takes your favorite shower stall
I don't care what anyone says, no other stall has the right temperature or water pressure compared to your favorite one. The wrong shower stall has the potential to throw your whole day off.
2. If your roommate is sick, you're going to get sick
No matter how many times we wash our hands, or use Clorox wipes to clean the doorknob, there's no way to dodge the air that you and your roommate share.
3. Not being able to shit in peace
If pooping in public wasn't hard enough, now you have to do it for months on end!!! Most people can agree that the flow just isn't the same when you're away from home. Sometimes you'll get lucky and no one will be in the bathroom, but as soon as you're on a roll...BAM! someone walks in and you're right back to square one.
4. The temperature in the room is NEVER right
Whether you have AC in the room or not, the temperature will never agree with you and there's really nothing you can do about it.
5. Fire drills
Fire drills wouldn't be as bad if they weren't at the most inconvenient times. There is truly nothing worse than being woken up by the alarm at 4am looking your absolute worst in front of pretty much everyone you know.
6. Trying not to wake your roomie
Either you're up earlier than your roommate or you're coming in really late. Either way, you have to tip-toe around the room or struggle to get changed with the lights off. 11/10 times you're bound to take the latter in this situation.
7.Your closet becomes everyone's closet
It doesn't really matter if you want to share your clothes or not; it's gonna happen. The sooner you accept that your favorite shirt isn't going to be there when you want it, the better.
8. You WILL see someone get arrested
Especially at bigger schools, there's just way too many people living in freshman dorms for someone NOT to come in drunk, or get caught with recreational substances in their room. As long as it's not you, then you'll probably enjoy watching this.
9. The smell of food t r a v e l s
If someone's making popcorn down the hall, there's a 100 percent chance that the smell will leak into your room even if the door's bolted shut.
10. Living in the dorm is an experience you'll never forget
Although there's an endless amount of things that we can complain about when living in a dorm, it's definitely an unforgettable experience. Some of the people you'll meet will have the potential to be your best friends for life.
