1. Attitude
What is a better way to get over a an ex? Change your attitude and upgrade your personality. Look at a break up as a lesson. Any negative attitude you put in that relationship--reinforce it. You will feel more confident and full of life.
2. Music
Yes, you will be tempted to listen to every T-Swift song that has "break up" in the subtext, but don't do that to yourself. Listen to uplifting songs that will lift you up! If you have an interest in a certain genre, go for it! Have your friends help you explore new music.
3. Clothes
If your ex bought you some article of clothing... trash it. An ex is an ex for a reason and should be treated as such. Or simply sell or donate the clothes. Also, change your wardrobe! If you like fedoras, wear fedoras! If your ex didn't let you wear a certain outfit, wear the crap out that outfit. You and your friends have a mall day and let them help you shop for a whole new you.
4. Hair
Drastic break ups call for drastic measures. A lot of women find relief to change their hair. You may look at it as a way to get rid of the "bad strands" (bad relationship). You can dye it, cut it, braid it, or straighten it. Many women result to cutting their hair for a new look, a new them. This gives them brand new confidence.
5. Room & Room Decor
Change your room around! Move your bed in an area you never had it before. Change your curtains. Throw out the rug that your ex liked. If you have photos of your ex... delete them. What are you holding them for? Awe, just in case you guys do work out again... No! Delete the photos and videos. What is a better stress reliever than the gym? Absolutely nothing. From personal experiences, the gym is a fantastic place to let a lot of tension go. Start and get in the habit of working out! Bring a friend to work out with you! Sign up for Zumba or Boxing; anything that interests you. Don't be afraid to meet new people at the gym! They are there the same reason why you are there and that's to FEEL GOOD.
9. Learn From The Relationship
Soon as the relationship is over, try to remember anything you have done that you wish you haven't done. Figure out the mistakes you made in that relationship. Life is full of lessons and this just one of them! When you establish that there were mistakes and you correct them, you would know not to make those same mistakes. This is also a confidence booster because now you know how you want to be treated in the next relationship.
10. Perfume
Dump the perfume / body spray that you wore during that relationship. You don't want to smell like bad memories. Shop for new fragrances that you like! Bath and Body Works is a beautiful place to shop for seasonal fragrances! And if some reason you run into your ex, they will notice that you move on and so did your perfume.
