Recently, the great known Prince passed away in a tragic and unexpected death. He was the pinnacle of music from the 70s until the day he passed. I never really was a fan until I heard one of his songs that changed my life. I will always be grateful for Prince Rogers Nelson. Here are a few of his greatest hits. If you click on the pictures, it will take you to a youtube video of the song!
10. Gett Off (1991)
To start off the list, this song is not like normal Prince because it has more of a hip-hop feel, but it is still one of my favorites.
9. Thieves in the Temple (1990)
This song makes me feel like I am listening to a story. I visualize the lyrics and that rarely happens nowadays. There is also a wicked harmonica solo near the middle.
8. Little Red Corvette (1982)
This song has some vibes attached to it and I guarantee the melody will be stuck in your head. It is super catchy.
7. Sign O The Times (1987)
This song is very mellow and that is what I love about it. If I were to listen to one Prince song before going to sleep it would be this one.
6. Let's Go Crazy (1984)
This song makes me want to dance. I love the way that the guitar and beat just make me want to move around and, as the song says, go crazy.
5. When Doves Cry (1984)
This song is incredible for a few reasons. It comes off as a dancy song, but the harmony Prince makes using different versions of his own voice gives it a cool and relaxing feeling.
4. Nothing Compares 2 U (1990)
This is a beautiful song because of its intense vocals as well as emotional saxophone solos mixed in. Prince definitely put his entire heart into this one.
3. The Most Beautiful Girl in the World (1995)
I know that no matter how bitter and mean you might be, this song will make you smile. It is a slower song, but it has a beat that will keep you singing all night long.
2. Kiss (1986)
You have probably sung this song at one point or another. It is close to my favorite, but I must be cliche when it comes to picking a favorite Prince song.
1. Purple Rain (1984)
This song without a doubt is my favorite Prince song of all time. The way he sings and shreds on his guitar make this a CLASSIC. I can listen to this song at any time anywhere and instantly catch the feelings that Prince lets us feel through his music.
