Group messages get a little too crazy sometimes.

As an Odyssey creator, I rarely have too much to complain about when it comes down to how we communicate and the programs we use. But, for one moment, I'd like to vent about the funniest and most inconvenient app that exists: GroupMe. Most of this will be sarcastic, because I do love using it, but I have a few complaints.

1. No one has a filter

I love you guys, really, but wow. Sometimes you learn more than you expect and the honesty can be a bit surprising. But no filter means no secrets.

2. The notifications

If I leave my phone alone for ten minutes, there is a possibility I will have at least twenty notifications from a conversation. Some times I want to turn notifications off.

3. Lack of privacy

Simply: someone is watching your every comment, and it is a problem sometimes. I just wanted to get opinions in peace.

4. GIF sprees

Sometimes my day cannot be described in a GIF, but I try. There's just so many of them. And a lot of people use similar ones, which can be insane.

5. On going conversations

Y'all are still talking at one am? Really? This is ridiculous. How long can one conversation go on?

6. Scrolling

Geez, my thumb gets a workout trying to catch up on what everyone is talking about. This app is at least makes one part of my hand strong.

7. Lost comments

I'm aware someone said something funny, but now I can't find it. Why? Just, why?

8. Freaking notifications

Yes, this deserves distant points. There's just too many.

9. The amount of emojis used

How many "crying" faces does it take to make a joke funny? I'm unsure at this point.

10. How quickly people reply

I asked one question, and now I can't even answer the first reply. Wow.

Yes, everyone, I love the app. I just thought a mostly satirical list would brighten up someone's day. Maybe I do have a messed up sense of humor, who knows.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
