10 "I Almost Peed My Pants" Moments

I always promised myself that I would travel to Los Angeles one day. It was on my bucket list and that was never going to change. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine that I would take a college class in L.A. I jumped right on that opportunity. I went to the interest meeting, saw a picture of some former Bridgewater students with Taylor Swift at the People's Choice Awards, and I was hooked!

Traveling to Los Angeles for TWO WEEKS, for COLLEGE CREDIT was a no brainer. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity right at my fingertips, and I wasn't going to let it pass. I worked my butt off the summer before the trip to pay for it, and I would get so exhausted from long hours. I just had to keep telling myself: "Annie, you'll be in Los Angeles in five short months. You got this!"

January came around, and all my friends were heading back to school for their boring Interterm classes. Meanwhile, I'm packing my bags to hop on a plane to urban paradise. It was the best feeling in the world. In a matter of hours, I HOPPED OFF THE PLANE AT LAX. (Sorry, I had to.) I did have a dream, but no cardigan was necessary because the weather was gorgeous!

Little did I know, I was about to have the best two weeks of my life. It would be filled with "I Almost Peed My Pants" moments at every turn. Here are my top 10 moments of the trip:

1. I ate at In N' Out Burger.

If you don't eat here at least once on your trip to the West Coast, you're doing life wrong. It's the fast food of celebrities, and it's cheap. You can't beat it. I was like a little kid in a candy store when we decided to eat there on the first night. It was so good! I'm pretty sure we ate there a total of three to four times on the trip. NO RAGRETS.

2. I met Kevin Hart.

A group of us were walking down the Hollywood Walk of Fame on our second night there. We were almost to the Chinese Theatre and then BOOM, we had arrived at a movie premier. I was in pure shock. You see this in movies, but it was right before my very eyes. Minutes later, we find out it's for "The Wedding Ringer" starring Kevin Hart, Josh Gad, and Kaley Cuoco. We moved across the street to get a better view of the stars arriving. All of a sudden, I heard people screaming, and you see giant security guards circling a really short guy. IT WAS KEVIN HART. He was making his way across the street to sign autographs, and to take selfies. We were freaking out. He made his way to us, and the first thing he says is "Hey.... I don't know you." OF COURSE YOU DON'T. Then this happened:

3. I went to the People's Choice Awards.

As if we weren't living the dream the night before, we had our VIP tickets for the People's Choice Awards the next day. We were going to be standing along the red carpet as some of the biggest names in Hollywood arrived at the Nokia Theatre. I couldn't wrap my mind around it. Celebrities were everywhere. Where was TSwift?!

4. I met Ellen FREAKING DeGeneres.

We were five rows back from the stage on the right side. The celebrities were sitting front and center. I met someone during the red carpet madness who said that we could try to get up during commercial breaks to get pictures or talk to our favorite stars. I went for it. During the first commercial break, celebrities were still making their ways to their seats so I snuck my way over. As I looked up, I saw Ellen walking towards me with her publicist. ELLEN WAS ABOUT TO PASS ME. I had to find my chill. This was my moment. I politely told her I was one of her biggest fans, and asked for a picture. She was about to present an award, but she still took the time to talk to me and take a picture. I was shaking. That did not just happen. WHAT IS MY LIFE? One of the funniest and most down to earth people in Hollywood just took a picture with me, and was so sweet about it. Here it is:

5. MORE STARSTRUCK SELFIES

All I could think is that I had to cease the moment. I saw the popular girl group, Fifth Harmony, making their way to their seats. I LOVE THEM. Ally Brooke Hernandez, the oldest of the group, was the first one I talked to, and she was so sweet complimenting my dress and she took a picture with me as well. Camila Cabello also took a picture with me, too. So crazy! Here they re:

Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, I spot Iggy Azalea sitting front row in the section right next to us. I saw another fan getting a picture with her, so I went for it. She was absolutely flawless, and she was really sweet when I asked for a picture. Here it is:

6. I saw the "Pretty Little Liars" set and Central Perk.

The Warner Bros Studio tour was my favorite of the entire trip. Many of my favorite television shows over the years were filmed on these lots. Our tour guide was really cool, too. He took us around the entire studio starting in what looked like a small town. Right away, I noticed the Rosewood Courthouse and Rosewood High School. It was the Pretty Little Liars set. I was obsessed with the show, so I was in heaven. He took us inside of Emily Field's house where they film. I've walked around the streets of Rosewood, which not many people can say they've done.

The Warner Bros. Studio tour is known for having the Central Perk set from the hit television series "Friends. We got to sit on the iconic couch, and we could take as many pictures as we wanted. Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Chandler, Ross, and Joey all sat on this couch countless times. We didn't want to leave.

7. We went on "The Ellen Show" set.

Meeting Ellen the night before was the craziest thing to ever happen in my life. Our tour guide at Warner Bros. worked for "The Ellen Show, and got us into the studio since they weren't taping that day. I STOOD ON THE GOLD STAR. You don't get to do that every day. I was just waiting for Ellen to pop out of the back, like HEY GUYS. No such luck. We saw the Riff Raff Room which was pretty cool. I had to be sneaky to take pictures because it was illegal, and all, but YOLO.

8. I saw James Franco.

It was an ordinary day taking a studio tour of Paramount Studios. Not even 10 minutes into the tour, we see the legendary actor and director, Ron Howard. That was surreal. Then tour guide casually says, "Ladies, don't freak out, but Mr. James Franco is about to walk past you." I never whipped my head around so fast in my life. LET ME TELL YOU. He is even more gorgeous in person. No luck on the picture because he was walking like he was on a mission. Let's just say, the ladies were freaking out about that for the rest of the day.

9. I was a seat filler at the Critic's Choice Awards.

When I said the People's Choice Awards was crazy, this was on a whole other level. We would not only be attending an awards show with some of the biggest names in Hollywood, but we would also be sitting right next to them. We were basically famous for a night, and I was totally OK with that. People from our group were sitting at tables with Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Tyler Perry, Angelina Jolie, Chris Evans, Melissa McCarthy, and the list goes on. It was crazy. I remember turning around during one part of the show, and Keira Knightley is staring back at me and says hello. LIKE WHAT IS LIFE? Some of us even made it on national television. It was insane. It was what dreams are made of for sure!

10. I went to the Taylor Swift Experience at the Grammy Museum.

If you know me, there was absolutely no way I was going to go to Los Angeles without eithr meeting Taylor or seeing this exhibit. I had seen pictures online when it first opened, but seeing it in person was so exciting. I've seen Taylor's exhibits in Nashville at the Country Music Hall of Fame before, but this was massive. They had so many of her tour outfits and props. I WAS IN HEAVEN. I almost fell to my knees when I saw the red piano she used for her All Too Well Grammy Performance. It was heaven on earth, and there are no ifs, ands, or buts about it. We spent about 2 hours in the museum. I think I spent over an hour in her exhibit just walking in circles taking it all in. My group of friends on the trip basically had to drag me out to get me to leave.

So this was a trip of a lifetime that I'll never forget. I made some really great new friendships. We made some awesome memories that I'll never forget. I fangirled hard at every turn, and somehow that was everything.

These "I Almost Peed My Pants" moments will go down in history!

Until next time Los Angeles...

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
