18 Things Every Girl with a Little Sister Can Relate To

Your baby sister is someone who annoyed you when you are younger but you know she's the best friend you ever had. Here's 18 things every big sister can relate to.

1) No matter what you always can shut her down in an argument, because she is never quite as witty as you.

- Sorry… it’s something that’s built internally inside an older sibling.

2) Even though miraculously within the last 2 years she has gotten taller than you, you can still beat her up.

- Sorry again, but I’ll always be stronger and know your weaknesses.

3) When y’all are in the car together, she always jams with you.

-Windows down, hair blowing, singing at the top of your lungs whether it’s to “Let it go” or “Fancy.”

4) You borrow her clothes… most of the time without asking.

- These boots would look really good with my outfit.  Thanks sis, bye.

5) She’s so much prettier, skinnier, and just more perfect than you

- Boys start to hit on her more than you.  How did that even happen?

6) You’re so protective over her, that she almost feels squished.

- I remember to this day my little sister telling me this girl was bullying her at school.  I immediately got the girl’s phone number and texted her.  Was that a little too dramatic? Maybe.  Was my sister outraged?  Absolutely.  Do I take it back?  Of course not.  You mess with my baby sissy, you’re in for a world of hurt.

7) You love when she tells you stories about herself.

- Boys, friends, school, I don’t care.  If she wants to tell me about it, I’m always all ears.

8) You can go from a silly, or nonchalant conversation to pure seriousness.

- Literally from laughing your heads off to tearing up in a matter of two minutes.

9) She’s always the first one to understand anything about a situation you’re going through and most of the time you don’t even have to explain it.

-My sister knows me so well that before I start complaining about something she will literally complain for me first.

11) You know what she’s thinking before she thinks it.

- Whether it’s a cute top that you know she would love or answering her question before she asks it.  Telepathy is a real thing people.  Face it sis, I know you better than you know yourself.

12) You laugh about the stupidest stuff with her.

-It’s not even remotely funny half the time…

13) Having to tell people we aren’t twins.

- Um… I’m three years older…

14) Then have people tell us we look nothing alike.

-Make up your minds people.

15) You love bragging about your little sister.

-You show pictures to everyone you meet in college.  In fact, a picture of you and your sister is in plain sight in your dorm room just so people can ask.  “My sister is pretty awesome.”

16)  You can convince her to do almost anything.

-Nothing like that time you convinced your little sis that pine needles tasted like chocolate.  This might be considered abuse the fact she really looks up to you.

17) Everyone compares her to you.

-It’s hard coming after perfection sis, I know.  But hey, it’s a good first impression right?  You’re welcome.

18) You know that you’re sister will always be the best friend you have ever had.

-She will be my maid of honor, and whatever else I need her for.  She is honest and has integrity which is why you know you can always count on her.  You can’t help but take a little credit for what a beautiful, caring and compassionate person she has become.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
