Zoetic, A Beauty Care Review

One of my favorite things to do is go shopping for facial cleansers and makeup. I can wander through the aisles of Ulta and Target for hours. So, I was so incredibly excited when I was sent a shipment of beauty care products by friend Ashley Lovell from her new line called Zoetic. Inside were lip scrubs, body scrubs, and rose water. I have to tell you guys, they are all amazing.

You can read about how Ashley created her line on her website, but basically she took her amazing talent for mixing her own products and turned it into a gorgeous, personal line.

The word zoetic means living and that is exactly what these products do--they enhance your body. Every product I received is beautifully crafted and smells absolutely amazing. They're all made from non-toxic and cruelty free products, plus they're never tested on animals! I also love that every product is manufactured in Bourbonnais, IL!

These products are standouts and let me tell you why!

I wear a ton of lipstick, especially liquid, and that completely damages my lips. I used Zoetic's Sugar Lips lip polish in Honey Rose, and let me tell you how soft my lips are. All you do is leave the scrub on for about two minutes and wipe it off with a tissue. Immediately my lips felt smooth and hydrated. Then, the next day I applied my usual liquid lipstick and my lips didn't dry out as much as they usually do! Plus, the color stayed on much longer than expected! This product is a MUST for people who love their lips, and it makes a perfect stocking stuffer! The polishes come in scents such as Banana Taffy, Sweet Mint, Juicy Mango, and many more! ($19 each at bezoetic.com)

Everyone's skin gets pretty dry in the winter, so receiving the body polish was a treat! I used the Strawberries and Cream, and I cannot believe how fresh this product smelled. The strawberries didn't smell synthetic--it was like I was in a strawberry patch. I absolutely loved it! I couldn't stop smelling the tub! I used it in the shower and even before I put cream on, my skin felt rejuvenated and smooth. All you do is just rub the sugar crystals into your skin, let them sit for three minutes and then rise! It's awesome! The body polish comes in scents such as Almond Vanilla, Eucalyptus Spearmint, Pink Lily Water, and many more! ($38 each at bezoetic.com)

My absolute favorite product though is the Petal Drops. I am addicted (I know some of my friends are too!!) and I only used it twice. There are some dark spots on my chin from acne and they are already fading from using the Petal Drops. You just add a couple drops to your skin and rub them in! The rose water can be used as a makeup primer, moisturizer, and even a substitute for night cream. It truly is the whole package. An added bonus is how good it smells because of the actual rose petals inside. Not only is a beautiful package, but you skin is truly glowing afterwards! ($98 for a full size bottle and $38 for travel size at bezoetic.com)

Finally, what really sets Zoetic apart is the handwritten note included in each package. This personal touch makes ordering from the website just like shopping in a real store. You feel welcomed and know someone is always there to help!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
