I do not believe that there is a reason why young people in the United States do not express their right to vote. It's hypocritical of most of us millennials to repeatedly complain about this year's election, yet barely 50 percent of us are even registered to be able to express those opinion where it matters. I believe that you should vote simply because it a right that millions of people of died for over history. We are so lucky to be in a democracy where we even have the right to a voice at all. Everybody has seen what can happen when people express themselves in the voting booths - that's the only reason why Bernie Sanders was able to make it as far as he did. We as a generation have the numbers to absolutely change the course of history and it's not even something you have to earn, it's given to you.
When you consider voting or not you should not base it off of the statistics. Don't base it off whether the news says a vote for your candidate would be a useless vote. You should vote because you can - bottom line. We have a long future ahead of us in this country, and us, the newest generation of voters, have to express the future that want, especially in an election like we are faced with this year, it's not going to go away, so be a part of it. The vote is on November 8 - you have plenty of time register. In an era that has been filled with controversy, both civil and political, why not vote for who you think will change the course of the United States. There are not just two names on the ballot.
