Voting. A basic American right. The thing children look forward to since they are little until they finally reach the beloved age of 18 so they can send in their vote of whoever they want to run the United States Of America.
If you're a college student on campus, you are probably very tired of the people walking around campus holding clipboards asking if you registered to vote because when you answer that you are, you're then immediately asked, "Are you sure you're registered at your current address?"
We annoy you because we care about this election. We annoy you because we want your voice to be heard. We annoy you because this election is one of the most important elections to date.
If you're a college aged student chances are this is the first time you are able to vote. This is the first time you are able to get your voice heard and change the outcome of the country. It's crazy this duty we have as Americans-- the ability to change our country single handedly.
If you care about taxes, if you care about the debt you are going to come out of college with, if you care about women's health issues, or minorities, or getting our little kids the actuation they deserve; you should vote. Our election this year is the most important it has ever been, we have the ability to continue on with progress President Obama has made, or we have the chance to watch our country not flourish. However biased, no voting is bad voting.
Those who do not vote do not have the ability to complain when something does not go their way--when you vote you can at least say you got your voice heard. Voting makes every decision made a decision you had a say in. Voting makes your voice heard. Voting makes all this possible.
The excuse "this election won't affect me" or "I don't like either candidate" is not a valid one. Not liking either candidate means there is third party. Elections affect everyone.
Get out there. Get your voice heard.
