You're Truly Obsessed With Dogs If...

If you know me, you know quite well I am beyond obsessed with my Bulldog named Manny and just dogs in general. More than half the reason I am excited to get home for Thanksgiving is to cuddle my dog (sorry fam). Living in Fort Collins, I see dogs EVERYWHERE. I see them on campus, old town, literally everywhere and anywhere I go. It makes living here that much better. OCD, "Obsessive Canine Disorder" is a real thing. The world is a better place because of dogs. What is not to love about them? If you don't love dogs, there is something extremely wrong with you. Here are some signs you know you are an obsessive dog person like myself.

1. You talk to dogs as if they are humans.

2. Your dog is your lock screen on your phone.

3. You have a specific voice you talk in when talking to your dog.

4. You facetime your dog when you're away.

5. You stop what you're doing if you see a dog in public

6. You wave to dogs.

7. You catch yourself starring at someone else dog while their owner awkwardly stares back at you.

8. You start petting other peoples dogs without asking.

9. Most of your Snapchat stories and Instagram pics are of you and your dog.

10. You throw birthday parties for your dog.

11. You treat your dog like a baby.

12. You would rather hang out with your dog than your friends.

13. You are always telling stories about your dog.

14. You feed your dog dinner scraps even though you're not suppose to.

15. You spoil them like no other.

16. You have tons of nicknames for them.

17. No dog can ever be as cute as yours.

18. When someone insults your dog you take it personally.

19. People think you talk about your dog way too much.

20. The firs thing people ask you is "hows your dog?"

21. You give them affection even if you know they don't want it.

22. You think literally anything your dog does is cute or funny.

23. You consider them apart of your family.

24. You follow at least 10 different dog accounts on Instagram and share all dog videos on Facebook.

25. Your friends tag you in dog posts because they know you will LOVE them.

26. You cry during any type of sad dog book, article, movie, picture, ect.

27. You are the one on the ground hanging with the dog at parties.

28. If you hear someone else say they are obsessed with dogs you automatically are best friend with the person.

29. You protect your dog with your life both physically and emotionally.

30. They are your BFF.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
