You're a Christian? Oh..

So that means you don't do anything FUN, right?

"I go to church every year for Christmas, so I am totally good with God."

"I mean, I'm a good person. That must count for something right?"

That is a common explanation of one's faith this day in age.

Now you may be wondering what a Christian-Atheist is... A Christian-Atheist is someone who claims the Christian faith follows the teachings of Jesus but does not believe there is a God.

With that being said, being a Christian in a Christian-Atheist world is probably one of the hardest decisions I have personally made. Every day, there is always a new challenge to my faith, whether it be in my personal life or in the media. This day in age the best way to show you are a Christian is by sharing an "I Love Jesus" picture on Facebook or tweeting a very common bible verse because "It really speaks to me".

However, when push comes to shove, it's the Christian-Atheist who abandon ship when times get tough. Trying to explain your faith as a young adult in this age is probably the hardest thing to do. "You mean you go to church EVERY Sunday?" "So that means you don't do anything fun right?" "How could you say that? I THOUGHT you were a Christian,,,"

On top of that, attempting to find a Christian who is also a young adult but also understand the struggles our youth face today is a dime a dozen. It's almost as if being open about your faith is perceived as a horrible disease. The war on Christians in today's world is more of an emotional war. There are so many negative connotations associated with the word Christian. When did it become such a horrible thing to follow the teachings of one of the most influential people in the world?

The world has developed into a place where it is "cool" to be a Christian but not too Christian. God forbid that you pray at lunch in front of your peers, but then it is totally acceptable to pray before the beginning of a very important football game.

When committing to the life of Christ no one really tells you how hard it is going to be to fight for your right to love God. No one warns you about the emotional warfare that is going to happen every day, everywhere you go. No ones warns you about all of the judgments you will receive just because you're a Christian and aren't always acting very Christian-like.

The best news I can give to those who are fighting this very battle is that you are not alone. Not only are there other young-adult Christians like us everywhere, but we also have our Father with us every step of the way.

Until next time. Stay Beautiful.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
